View Full Version : Modders! Please sign your work.
Most experianced modders sign thier work but some first time modders with good stuff do not.
I've downloaded numerous mods to include in one my personal "Boat" mods that I compile and share with some online friends and would like to be sure to have all mods credited properly. A few of all the mods do not have a readme with authors name for proper credit and searching the forums has left a few question marks in the compiled readme.
Anyway, just a request.

Meh. Only reason i include my name in anything i do now, is because im afraid those freeloading dillweeds at X1software/combatplanes.whatever will might include some of it in their next "lets take a bunch of mods off the internet and sell it as a commerical CD and make some easy cash at the expense of the subsim community" shennanigans. A disclaimer people really should put in all their work, is it being freeware, and NOT for commercial use.

Please, a simple text file Read Me is always appreciated.
Thank you everyone for all the pretty presents.
Also, if modders use other modders' stuff we need to give FULL credit. That doesn't mean just putting their name in a readme file and assuming that that's as far as our responsibility goes. If players write telling us that they like a particular feature it's our responsibility to give credit where credit is due - when replying, name the guy whose work it was. Alternatively, if the person writes with a more general comment, make sure he knows that other folks contributed. Nobody reads readme files, so the person who did the work needs us to do more than just listing his contribution in an obscure file.
That's why I asked. To make sure each mod gets full credit.
