**Released!!** Automatic Deck Guns v1.0

Mod created by nvdrifter with TimeTraveller's Mini Tweaker utility


The story:

Recently, the US Naval Dept has developed secret, high powered, automatic deck guns. You are one of the few lucky commanders to have one of these super deck guns installed on your sub. Good luck.


This mod gives all sub deck guns 1000 round magazine clips, making them fire like automatic weapons. The deck guns will now fire about 1,000 rounds per minute. All deck guns can now fire AA, AP, HE, and Star Shells. Total storage for each shell type is 20,000. This mod is for the Quake player in all of us. Have fun. ;)

**I dedicate this mod to all the rivet counters** :p

The funny thing is, I was just "Saturday night special" tinkering with your Deck and AA Tweak file.txt having alot of fun with the results. Since we've all chased that lone ship for hours...

Im curious, how did you get starshells to work?
I tried and could not get them to show up, but then Im just a beginner here with modding.

I actually didn' t test the star shells, but I added them with Mini Tweaker. Have you tried clicking on the star shell icon to load them in the game?

Hmm, I must be doing something wrong, I used the tweaker to give a cannon starshell ammo and then in game tried to select the starshells to load and they just were not there...(I remember with SH3 it was fun to light up the night sky)...I looked in the ammunition.upc and starshells do not show as an ammo type but there is a flare for the decoy launcher?
If starshell ammo is still in the game I would like to know how to enable it.

well i know they are different but would it be possible to make them compatible with each other ? Or form some kickass mod out of both of them or something ?

I think Shad43's ammo mod changes loadouts by about 20%. You can still use this mod with that mod, but the other loadout amounts will overwrite each other. This means that you will get the 20,000 deck gun shells, but also the stock AA and MG shells.

This is why I love the Modding Community! You have some modders who strive to make the game more Historically Realistic based on Research. A way to relive history and honor the men who really sailed in the subs. NYGM :rock:

Then you have others who want to play Star Wars in the Pacific, and call others "Rivet Counters".

Now, we need a name for this second group....hmmmm

I propose the word "Farb"...In the reenacting world it refers to someone totally unrealistic. Like someone who shows up to a Civil War event wearing modern day eyeglasses with a M-1 Garand Rifle.....FARB or FARBY..That should work..:up:

Im not sure why you would want to do that...my mod does little more than add more storage, slightly faster reloads and slightly more HE damage...mixing it with this mod wouldent do anything usefull, IMO :D

ok but when i try to install this mod with jgme then it says the .sim files have already been altered with the improved ammo mod

I think he wants the 20% more storage ammo for the other guns from your mod plus the 20,000 for the deck guns all in one mod. :doh:

Sorry. I couldn't help myself when I made that rivet counter remark. :lol: I love realism, but I have to admit it's bada$$ having an automatic deck gun. :yep:

To be honest I think its not for me (like you I am in to realism here) but I know that feeling...used to do hacks/trainers for Battlefield a long long time ago.

Cyberops...the mini tweaker is very easy to use and nvdrifter has a ton of files for it.
Try it out and muck around a bit...you can make your own mod with exactly what you want :yep:

suppose I should mention that the tweaker makes a copy of any file it writes to...so you can always get your default file back.

One more thing i just tried out this mod and i love it but one thing that i dont like is the terrible flickering the screen does when im like on the bridge and the firing is going on. Anything that can be done about that ?

JP Navy Dept has been working on autoguns as well.

The secret tests carried out in Guam Island, shown that they use of sake to prop the shells. This will cause a punch on US ships/subs.

In one of the tests a shell passed through battleships hull hiting a sub, which pindown in seconds.

The new Advanced Gun System for the Zumwalt only hopes for 10 rounds a minute. Obviously, it's technology is behind the times.:ping:

Could be possible also convert the AA gun in a gattling gun , the gun in an high velocity railgun, and the torpedo in a skval supercavitation torpedo :rotfl:

i can imagine the loadout of ammo in a sub like this... the uber tiger (gato)
