[REL] Hmas Codrton V.1

this is my 1st attempt to make a mod so all input is accepted

These are Destroyers from the South Pacific area...however without pictures I had to just "go with it"
This a conversion from SH3 to SH4, but I added the SH4 weapons and other stuff...should be jonesoft ready...as noted these destoryers are just an addition to the British and Aussies in the area...the mod says Codrington...but it resembles HMAS Stuart...work with me here...1st attempt to add to the community. Jack 410's model but I changed the guns and added crew and search light to front.

What DD is that ?

The HMAS Codrton is a Tribal class I believe, found them in the Royal Registry of Naval ships 1901-1950

also you will need to added this to the ROSTER> NAMES

HMS Codrington was an A class flotilla leader
Sunk in Dover harbour in 1940

The Aus navy didnt have any flottila leaders

They had an Admiralty leader - former Scott class - in HMAS Stuart

And correct me if I am wrong but thats Jack 410's model yes

Yes you are correct, as I stated here in past notes...I didnt make the mod, I just converted it from SH3 to SH4 and added the correct weapons...the model is meant to represent more DD's for the area...Correctly it should have been HMAS ANZAC...but its my first attempt to transpose SH3 stuff to SH4

Credit should also be given to Jack_410 its his model of British "Leaders" A-I Class - Codrington I used...but added I added the SH4 weapons...and search lights. Didnt know whos model is was until now...thought it was standard SH3...

The mod you used - without credits to its creator either in the release or the D\L - is a flotilla leader A-I class DD

Dont want to seem funny buts its common courtesy to credit the original creator and ask permission for use

Having said all that I admire the work involved in porting a ship over

But if anything its similar to the Admiralty class DD HMAS Stuart

You might want to alter the roster cfg to reflect that

I stated Already that I didnt know where the mod came from...until it was pointed out to me...and in reality it was already posted...

I will from now on keep my mods to myself...and not post them...to avoid this again.

Your post with the credits came as I was writing mine so overlapped

I purely meant to point out the courtesy and credit

There will be a lot of SH3 ships ported over in the future no doubt

However I will point out a little research goes a long way
Took me all of 5 mins to find out it was Jacks ship and even less to know the Aus navy had no such ship

Mind you the devs had a year to realise the Lanc is a Br aircraft and didnt serve in the Pacific so eh

I would thank for not being so perfunctory toward me in your reply. I was simply asking you to explain in a little more detail what you meant when you wrote "A lot of good mods and modders were driven out of this community"
I certainly can't agree with either of your perceptions with regard to the humorous aspect of this topic nor your assumption that I am acting in a defensive way.
When you allude to the 'Holy Grail' am I to presume you are refering to The Grey Woves Expansion Mod ?
If so, perhaps the masses out there who gain so much enjoyment from it might well percieve your comments to be ill advised and in some cases...funny :rotfl:

I just wanted to say I just converted the mod over from Sh3...and never said I was the maker..all i did is change the guns, and added some things...once I found out whos mod it was I posted it...bare with me Im new...and I learned alot in this one post...so for future post of mod conversions I will state the maker...and the other stuff...by the way I converted all of the Merchants with lights for SH4...and will be ready soon...

As I dont have the game I cant say what is in the roster folders as far as Br DD etc go

From the top of my head you could import the N class ( Aus ) and Q class ( Br ) as they served in the Br Eastern fleet
