Landing a spy in Japan might be good for a spy novel, but not very realistic.
Same goes for photographing Osaka or Yokohama. No Fleet boat ever went there, and none could have, due to mine barriers, contact loops, net defenses and others.
AFAIK SubPac boats did not do special operations at all, at least not before 1944.
How can one get rid of these Hollywood assignments?

The main problems with that are, the very strong reduction in FPS, the time expended, because rarelly you can run beyond 8X time compression, and the extreme reduced pop-up window range, wich enfoerce you to approach to much in very very shallow waters.

Very anoying... you can spend more than 2 hours (real time) to enter and go out from a port.

I decide to not accomplish any more those objectives.

I think so the caampaign layers modders may change tose objectives in the future, putting the release point in non so shallow waters and a little far form the full trafic ports.:up::up:

We are already looking at it. I want to balance a lot of the objectives in the game and unlikley orders are at the top of my list. It should be fairly easy to do but a somewhat lengthy process given you have to evaluate all of them, remove, some, edit some and add new ones. I have yet to check if and/or how the campaign weighs them up when assigning them but we shall see.

So good to know ! Many thanks...

I think so no captain will put in risk his sub, sailing with 0.5 meters under the keel to release a commands boat.

Sure he will stop the sub 500m or 1 km away and release the boat there.

Plus, still the time compresssion and FPS problems at ports. May be in top end computers it may be not a problem, but in my PIV 3.4 / ATI X-800 XT PE it is a big trouble.

Another thing I'm looking at is the possibility of creating new Objectives. They will probably only be variations of what is already there but we shall see how it goes.

Yes, the normal and historical situation could be release the raft in a isolated place at more than 500 meters of the beach at night , where the agent can land withouth risk of be discovered. :hmm:

Nice to see there is a we who are already working on modding the game, thanks and best wishes to you and your team.

May I suggest a couple of coast watcher missions. I know for a fact that Australian military personel were routinely dropped by sub on many of the islands throughout the Pacific to watch for Jap air and naval movements. Sometimes they were in a team, more often alone, perhaps dropping one off or picking one up could replace some of the more absurd missions in the campaigne. Certainly picking them up if they had been detected and were being chased could add an interesting diversion to the game.
