View Full Version : [REL] Brighter torpedo wakes

It's a very simple mod - just made the torpedo wakes brighter to make them easier to follow and spot with the external camera.
Nvdrifter is working on a more advanced mod I think, so this is just to fill the hole untill he finishes.

Here's the file:

Just dump it in your sh4/data/misc folder.
Remember to back up the original file first.

EDIT: The mod is now JGME ready.

Thank you for this release. :rock:I have been working on an SH4 torpedo wake mod, but unfortunately the dev team actually re-hardcoded important parts of the SH4 torpedo.dat file. :damn: I can increase the lengths still, but there are other problems that I can't fix this time around... such as the total length of wake showing instantly (no timer), and the curved edges cannot be smoothed (they are blocky). I will still try to release a version, but sadly it won't be as good as my SH3 torp wake mod.

Sorry to hear about the hardcoded dat file, Nvdrifter. But I'll be looking forward to your mod anyway. Just do your best!

Of course, CyberOps, I should have made it JGME ready from the start. It is now corrected.

Was able to find and follow a stern fired Torp all the way to this charging Matsuki's bow shot - that was impossible before your mod! :up:

Question for the smart guys: Is there any relation to firing the torpedoes, specifically the wakes, and an escort being able to detect you and locate the firing point?

Most "Graphics mods (not all, but most) are not related to patching, as they simply modifyes a graphic layer or a bitmap etc. Some times the Dev's adds small changes like for the TDC in 1.2
