Hey Guy's, This has been mentioned before, but I could find any answer to it.:oops:

Is there any way of placing the position of the Capt (player) on the conning tower more to the front, so you almost have to look down to the UZO, and you can see the deck gun and more of the nose of the Boat?:hmm:

Or have it slightly off to the right of the Uzo at the front?:shifty:

Also whilst I'm here, Flag on the Sub pole that dissapears when you dive like the radio ring;) I know I keep harping on this but it would be great to have:up:

Back to you.

Moin,

IŽve checked the *.cam file structure and found the position to alter the viewpoint. If you tell what sub type and conning tower you, use I could relocate it for you.

Flag on the Sub pole that dissapears

I don't remember any real U-Boot where the crew lovingly stored the fag before diving, specially when an enemy aircraft was diving on them :arrgh!:

But don't worry, the flag will not wear out from the salt water of the game. ;) Wait, do we need a mod also for that?:hmm:

J joking---couldn't resist :up:

DD, I'm in a VIIc with a type 1 conning tower (1939/40):rock:

And if you could tell me how to do it so I could mod the conning towers as I advance would be great to, if its not to difficult:hmm:

Thanks Diving Duck:up: (Edit) I'll have to stop calling you DD, I just noticed theres a BilgeRat with those initials

Hitman I don't care if it dissapears or stay's, but just to have the flag would be great.:arrgh!:

Hello DivingDuck,

looks interesting. I would be interested in knowing it too, if you don't mind. Do you possibly have an adapted mini tweaker file or do you use an hex editor?

Open the Turm.cam you want to edit with any hex editor and change the highlighted values.
x moves left - right
y moves up - down
z moves forward - aftThe values have to be in float(32) format.

Moin Shepelly,

the screen was made from a typeII CT *.cam file. So, donŽt copy and paste the values you see here. When back at home IŽll give you some values that fit. Make sure not to change the NSS_Uboat7_CT.cam but the Turm7c_??.cam file. This file is located in \data\objects\...

There is more than 1 InitialLocalPos entry. Make sure youŽve changed the right one, or I did a mistake highlihting the wrong one. IŽll check it asap.

DD

Thanks Mate, I'll double check and see what happens:up:

Found the TURM7C_CAM file and await your values.

Thanks,

Hello Diving Duck,

thank you for sharing your knowledge. But I think the position in the cam file is wrong. If I change the values starting from 168 (Hex position) it works!

So, in my opinion x values start at 168, y values start at 16C and z values at 170

But thank you anyway :up:, because if you did not point us to the correct file and the approximate position I would never have found it.

Moin Shepelly,

http://img180.imageshack.us/img180/2274/hexeditingcamposct004rv8.jpg

open Turm7c_1_hd.cam and search for the second appearance of
UseInitialLocalPos .... InitialLocalPos. (as shown in the screen)
Set UseInitialLocalPos to 01
Use these values for InitialLocalPos: 29 5C 0F 3D 71 3D CA 3E 29 5C 0F 3D (X=0.035 / Y=0.395 / Z=0.035)

This will move the camera a little to the front and one footstep to the right.

DD, do these also reflect for the type b, or do the values change for each individual sub?:hmm:

DivingDuck

Moin,

Minor changes might be necessary, but they should do for other typeVII turms too. Just try them as they are. ItŽll cause no CTD if the values are the same for different turm cameras.

Moin,

IŽve written some tweak files for this issue. You may download them here (http://files.filefront.com/DD_CapPos_View_TweakFilesrar/;7227671;/fileinfo.html).

The following towers are included:

Turm2A_1_hd
Turm2D_1_hd
Turm2D_2_hd
Turm7b_1_hd
Turm7b_2_hd
Turm7b_3_hd
Turm7b_4_hd
Turm9c_1_hd
Turm9c_2_hd
Turm9c_3_hd

Download, extract and copy to ...MiniTweaker\Tweakfiles. Launch MiniTweaker an load the file needed. UseInitialLocalPos must be set to "1" to make SHIII use your values.

DD

Moin,

IŽve been asked to change the gunners viewpoint position. Here is the tweakfile to change all sub_guns_cam views

http://img231.imageshack.us/img231/894/gunview003yf1.jpg http://img231.imageshack.us/img231/732/gunview001iz4.jpg
before / after

All available guns cameras may be tweaked with this file. As always detailed installation instructions are included. The archive contains a tweaked Guns_SUB.cam file. If you use this *.cam file with your installation, keep in mind that some cams may differ from what you expect. Besides I can not guarantee that one or another test value is still stored in it. Had no time to check them all. Use on own risk.

Use the following values to change the viewpoint as shown above right.
UseInitialLocalPos = 1
X = 0,04081
Y = 0,045
Z = 0Download DD_GunView_Tweakfiles.rar (ca.400kb) here (http://files.filefront.com/DD+GunView+Tweakfilesrar/;7793409;;/fileinfo.html)
