Perhaps he is referring to the chrysanthemum on the bow? It is missing from the ingame model.

IIRC it is the symbol for the Japanese Emperor and/or Japanese empire.

Yes, it was the Imperial Chrysanthemum symbol of the Emperor. I did have quick look at modifying the Yamato DDS files to include the symbol but I couldn't find any obvious 'bow' textures...it looked like a generic steel plate texture is mapped to the bow. I only had a very quick look though, so I might be wrong.

Only the "Yamato" class battleship added the Imperial-Emblem.

Excellent mod! Thanks :)

One thing though...it wasn't only the Yamato and Musashi that had the Imperial Emblem mounted on the bow.
I've never seen one on a destroyer but I've seen the chrysanthemum mounted on other battleships and cruisers.
I've not seen definitive proof of one on an aircraft carrier but there are lots of photos showing something which could be the Imperial Emblem on the bow.

There were some wacky camo patterns later in the war, Zuikaku had her deck painted to resemble a battleship IIRC.
