here's some traditional japanese music to add to your radio tokyo playlist.
these are from an old lp i picked up in japan in 1980 so the sound quality's not that great, not to mention that this music is something of an acquired taste...
you've been warned! ;)

Those are great  I was worried they were going to be very....I don't know...strange after your warning about acquired tastes.
Sound quality works very well as a radio broadcast. If you have anymore, please share.

It will not let me download it from that site as I already downloaded one file today. Is there an other download site?

BR, you rock my friend, you even have Tokyo Rose, and more Big Band stuff.
I am also looking for some recordings of Bob Hope's USO Tour stuff if they are available.

Can someone make a simple ReadMe for this? I want to add this to Subsim Downloads. And how does one make additional radio channels?

Do you have patch 1.2? I ask because you have MusicVolumeOnNews= line. That is only in patch 1.2.
But for your Nippon station, that radio.ini entry is fine. The antennal line doesn't really matter if you have the last number at 100000. This means the station will be heard anywhere on the map.
The frequency should be left up to the downloader because they may have many other stations already. They need to find an unused frequency.
The MusicVolumeOnNews line will control the random music's volume when a scripted event plays. If you have no scripted events (like this station), you don't really have to worry about this....but I'd set it to the lowest possible value myself anyways.

Wow, you do have an absolutely SICK number of music files, there!
We need to get an Sh4 radio config set up to use all this stuff.

Anyone know who the composers of these are? I am just wondering if Minezaki is one. That is Minezaki Koto (well Koto Minezaki here in the West).

Anyone know who the composers of these are?
the lp i recorded these from lists all the works as being "traditional" with no known individual composer and compositionaly originating sometime pre-17th century...
so, as minezaki was a late-18th/early-19th century composer (and that he's not given attribution on the lp), i'd suspect that no, none of these are by minezaki.
:know:
also, for any that are interested, i recently came across this website which has a nice collection of koto music in mp3 format freely downloadable ==> http://media2.nacs.uci.edu/rgarfias/mp3/japan/japan.html

Hehe, I already have that site on my bookmarks. I love this stuff. I just got my 4 year in Japanese language and culture from Oregon State University. Next is to move there and teach English.
By the way. It is nice to see someone else that knows something about Japanese culture. We should talk sometime.

Since castorp345 said feel free to mirror, and bunkerratt isn't hosting the files any more, I've added it to my site.

I've also added a file containing the Koto music he pointed to above, so you can download one file instead of 29.
Thank you very much
It does work.
Good things to listen during my long hunting patrols...

Thanks. You have some good stuff there. I have been searching high & low for some classic Hawaiian music, but could only find modern artists pushing their tunes.
