I just finished building a new computer (see my sig for the goodies). Today I installed SH3 and GWX plus the 1.02 update. The whole thing went smooth and so now here I sit ready to leave port on my first GWX patrol.

But first I thought I would scan some of the topics here to see if there are any issues. The first thing that caught my eye was people talking about how rare contacts have become with GWX. So these are my questions...

Just how rare is making contact with convoys and lesser numbers of ships?

How about Task Forces, especially in the first two years when they usually appear before disappearing almost completely after 12/41?

I play to experience encounters with enemy shipping and all that ensues (with realistic settings in that context). I know some here like things to be as realistic as possible (as in not getting many contacts) and that's fine. It's just not my cup of tea. I didn't buy the game to wander all over the Atlantic and maybe have an encounter if I'm lucky. That's extremely boring to me.

So with the above in mind, is GWX something I'll enjoy or will I have to uninstall and play the first GW version or something else that's been dumbed down a bit?

Thanks

The amount of convoys and TF'S hasnt been reduced
If anything its been upped in the TF area

What has been reduced is the frequency they show on the map as a radio report

They are still there just not handed to you on a plate

Understood and thanks. That's nice to hear. I'm looking forward to GWX (but will likely be interrupted after March 21st!). I can't wait for SH4 to arrive.
