With the Stock and in GW1.1a I was able to make it to the US coast with at least enough fule for 2-3 weeks on station with a IXB at ahead 2/3. With GWX I can only make it 2/3 way across the atlantic before having to turn back. Why?
What speed are you going at?
GWX has changed some speed settings.
I think optimum speed is ~7.5 knts for fuel efficiency.
Any faster and drag will waste fuel, any slower and the screws are "out of gear" and don't bite the water enough.

Try 1/3rd.

Far to slow! your screw and engine is not efficient at such low speeds.

I had another type of fuel bug in my last patrol. I was returning to Wilhelmshaven when CE reported that the diesel had run out. Yet I was able to continue on the surface at 5 kts (ahead slow) until I could dock at base - a good 100 nm or so.
Is this a stock bug? I was in a Type IXB, using GWX 1.02.

Since when is it possible to run on batteries on the surface?

You still have some fuel, after CE reports, that your fuel has run out. This has been in stock SH3 aswell. You can do about 150 nm with 9 kts.

When ever you are out of fuel it switches to batterys on the surface.

Is this a SH3CMDR malfuntion or sabotage? Did it happen only once, or have you had trouble more than once?

Oh ... Seems I never ran out of fuel :)

its true. When you run in real navigation the probability of wasting a great porcentage of fuel along all trip is higher.
The extra fuel is true and the cannot define the autonomy but until the mesage of oil of fuel autonomy contemplate all the fuel. a moment until the mensage autonomy was near to 180 in my case with a IIa comming back to kiel. i was worried about dont reach the port.
