Hi there,
Ever since using GWX I got the impression that the ships and also the uboats roll the waves less realistically than before. Could imagine things of course, but the day before yesterday I watched my boat in medium seas and it simply looked awkward. Were there any changes made to that in GWX?
Yes, there are changes made to the way the U-boat moves in waves.

I think the sub physics are more realistic in GWX. It seems to have more accurate seakeeping in storm waves (doesn't pitch as much).

Ok. Does someone know which value and which file is responsible for that? Would like to have a look at stock values and in case I like it better, change it back.
I thought it was just me drinking too much!:lol: but maybe it has someting to with the "Neutral Bouyancy Mod"?:yep: I can't seem to keep the sub level at Periscope depth even in relatively calm seas.:-?

Just asking again:
Can anyone tell me which file is responsible for the way a ship/sub behaves when it's going up or down a wave? Thanks a lot.

The "shipname".sim file, you can edit them with MiniTweaker.

It all boils down to little reality nazis, who think they know best WHAT AND HOW YOU SHOULD PLAY.
Best just to begin building your own mods.

That word is practically common langage in some parts here in the states. To put it in context its a synomym for being too strict and overbearing, to be an imposition.
An example, Being from california, im quite liable to comment about the "smog nazi's" in reference to the states vehicle emission standards. Not defending him, just explaining his usage of the word - its quite common here.

Yeah i know. One reason why , even though im sarchastic in nature, i'll refrain from time to time. Reading this fellows other post, i gather he hasnt had much contact with people outside our country.

Hi Woof,
If you use the neutral positive buoyancy you will have the exact same behaviour as the stock.
Another tip that I can say to you is that GWX didn´t messed with any values on the pitch and roll but only with the mass of the uboats. This is why the neutral buoyancy will get you again to the stock behaviour.
So, no need to edit any file. Just use Neutral buoyancy.;)
But i´m curious...what exactly you find no realistic on GWX uboat behaviour on the surface?:hmm:
Rubini.

I like the way the boats move in GWX. I think it's much more realistic.

GOOD GOLLY!! :o
I'm glad you pointed out the fact that those guys flew in from all points of the
globe and forced this mod on to my system!!!:huh:
It's rare that I see this level of genius thinking, and I salute you for
haveing the gonads to come forth and point them out
as the evil tyrants you believe them to be.
Shame on you, you GWX guys, for forceing skippy to use your mod! :nope:

I´m not sure if is more realistic GwX ,i´ve never seen a real uboat in the sea,but i like more the stock behaviour or neutral buoiancy. :88)
the boat rolls too much in medium waters... perhaps too light, ?
nobody are forcing you to use the mods , also. remember the optional modlet for neutral buoiancy released time ago.:88) and the great work from others making options for GWX.:hmm:
I thought it was just me drinking too much!:lol: but maybe it has someting to with the "Neutral Bouyancy Mod"?:yep: I can't seem to keep the sub level at Periscope depth even in relatively calm seas.:-?
I find if I ask for 16 metres it will eventualy settle at the right periscope depth at 2 kts for silent running, although it will still rise a little so you have to keep an eye on it.

@Wave Skipper
Be glad you didn't call me a Nazi. About one of the worst insults here in Germany.
@Ref
Thanks mate
@Rubini
Don't know. Just doesn't feel right to me. Was just an idea. Most of the time I play with external camera off anyway so it doesn't matter. Just being a little paranoid I guess :ping:
Will have a look at the Neutral Buoyancy Mod though! :up:
I changed NSS_Uboat7c_sim using SH3 Mini Tweaker.
gc_height = 2.9
draughtSurfaced = 5.1
Boat then rolled and pitched more realistically
See what you think.

Also loaded the Depth Charge Shake mod. Its brilliant. When you are in rough weather, and the boat is plowing into waves, at F2 view everything shakes - none of your serene smooth cutting of the waves anymore :oops: (seasick smilie)
