Getting later U Boat models earlier?

Can one tweek the files to get hold of the later, better models earlier in the war?

Someone will get to this.

Awhile back for the Grey Wolves 1.1 a gut did a Kids Mod, basically opened up all the subs from the beginning. I don't think it is compatible with GWX. I'll give you the link anyway.

Had a look, but I don't want to increase the 'crash' risk ie program as opposed to my u-boat. What I really need is a pointer to which file(s) and values to change - I tried adjusting the 'when available' date but that alone did not seem to make a difference

:hmm: Not sure why you posted the same question in two new threads, but anyway.

Open Basic.cfg and look for the SUBMARINEx blocks where x is a number 0 to 3. Change the Monthx and Yearx values to your taste.

That's the first bit. You then need to continue on through the file changing the availability date of conning towers and other equipment accordingly. No use giving yourself an XXI in 1939 if you have nothing to go with it. ;)
