Have you guys got the same experience before?
"Airplane spotted!" said the WO.
Yeah, time to man the flak.
"Fire at will!" And then your flak fires. Your flak guy is quite good, the enemy airplane is bursted into flame, it's engine is on fire.
However, the airplane still flys with goddamn fast speed:down:, as if its engine has not damaged.:damn::damn:
Damn. Here is my question: Can a make the airplane destroyed after a few second as soon as it's engine is on fire?:ping: It is REALLY unrealistic, as the engine makes the airplane airborne. The airplane should go down as it's engine is doomed. Thx

Their are different levels of damage and a lightly damaged plane will
smoke and become frail but not lose speed a med one will loose speed
develop engine trouble more smoke and small flame.
and number three burst to pieces and fall out of the sky.
although angle and such plays a role in how much momentum
the major wreckage will maintain.

Not to mention that the game shows the plane is damaged by showing it on fire, when in real life planes could be damaged without burning, and many damaged planes did fly all the way home.

Stop showing off MM. Just because your boat has the firepower of a destroyer doesnt mean you will survive when you are under attack from a wave of B-24's

Your right about my boat packing a wallop but so do the B-24's
one of the very coolest experiences in the whole surface combat
thing is just that dodging 6 or 8 of them with the full bomb load
the horizon just dissapears and if one of those sticks of bombs
lands on you you dont have to worry about sinking cause itll drive
you all the way through to the surface on the Indian ocean

I see the point. However, can i change the zone.cfg to make the airplane down as soon as it's engine is on fire?

its easier just to up your shell power to a one hit one kill level its
a lot less work but I dont think thats more realistic I think youll
find it will take away from it.
I have a great surface combat and aa mission that Im working up in a
few forms. so Ive been getting lots of practice at the AA part.
and I feel that when your fighting from the bridge (best) instead
of fighting from an AA gun position youll find the ambience is like
being on malta or on a carrier of Okinawa.
I really think the potential of different and progressive damage
for AI really adds to the "Feel" in surface combat scenarios.
