Guys, I'd like some suggestions (and perhaps help) in organizing this list.

And naturally, more links are welcome :)

Good start. My only suggestion would be to make the overal headings-the ones that are separate and group groups together-bigger.

Also, on that Fura****a link, is there some reason for the gaps...Fura s h i t a ' s Fleet?

Never mind, I can see the logic now.:rotfl:

I don't think that link will work unless we use some redirector like http://tinyurl.com/ :hmm:

I had a few of mine that were dead but just
needed the page taken off the end of the
url to get into the still existing homepage

I sent pm's for the bad links I found

Ill have to go over whats here
I think you ended up including
my bad links as we seem to have
been working simultaneously at that
point.

Does anybody know a data source for the complete KM quadrants system?

What I mean is a file that stores the quadrant coordinates in coordinates, not just a web page with some reference material ..

I know there is the KM Grid converter, but it doesn't come with any help in using the provided .bin file. I might contact the author about his permission / help to use it though ..

Anybody knows something?

And yes, great idea this thread. I have already found some long needed information through it, like the link to the Romanian WWII vessels.

Great stuff!

Here are a few more - maybe some of these are already listed, but if they were then I must have missed them.

http://www.njscuba.net/reefs/index.html

- Website dedicated to artificial reefs and shipwrecks off the New Jersey coast. Includes some interesting info on some WWII-era warships and merchants, as well as pictures.

http://www.warsailors.com/raidervictims/pinguin2.html

- Norwegian Whale Factory Ships of WWII. There are already a couple of links to different parts of this site, but not the main site or this part. Either that, or I missed those links.

http://pacificwrecks.com/provinces/truk_lagoon.html

- Some interesting general information on the ships sunk in the US attack on Truk Lagoon, including both identified wrecks and yet-to-be discovered ones. Site includes statistics and brief histories.

http://merchant-navy.net/Thumb%20Pages/thumbs1.html

- Pictures of UK merchant ships, but not all from WWII. I was surprised this one wasn't in the list - maybe I missed it.

http://www.npswapa.org/extContent/wapa/paradise/paradise8.htm

- Another Truk Lagoon Site.

http://rc-sub.com/bclass.html

- "Japanese B Class Submarine Project." Includes rare blueprints.

http://www.warships1.com/

- This used to be the greatest warship site on the internet. Then the host seemed to have problems with it, and removed almost all content. However, info on most US BBs is still there, and he says that he might be restoring the site soon (although that was two years ago).

Most of these links were found by myself, but some links were sent to me on this forum.

Also, here's a few more I'd forgotton about. I may find more later.

http://troopships.pier90.org/index.html

- WWII Troop Crossings

http://modelshipmaster.com/products/modern_navy/index.htm

- Warship models, including some closeup shots of accurate-looking WWII models.

http://www.ijn.dreamhost.com/index.html

- Excellent 3d renderings of some Japanese warships and weaponry.

Mush Martin, the F u r a s h i t a' s Fleet shortcut can be deleted as it is a sub-set of the Imperial Japanese Navy site, shown below. The bad language filter is tripping us up a bit, so we might as well delete it. If you go to the Main site, shown below, you will still be able access the Fura***** site, along with a number of others with terrific content.

CCIP, I just noticed that some of the URL adresses for the Research Web sites I contributed are a bit messed up. You will notice that under General the 1st and 2nd, the 3rd and 4th, the 6th and 7th, and 9th, 10th and 11th all have duplicate URL addresses. I don't know how it got that way, but just to make sure, what follows is a corrected version of all of the sites I originally posted. I also deleted the F U R A S H I T A web site which was problematic and redundant, mentioned in my last post. These are all good URL addresses for active Web sites. Thx EmeAzul
