Very strange bug here as it comes and goes.

I am using the longer wake mod but I am not sure that it is related. When I am on the surface I will sometimes have a bow wave (the actual splash) and I will sometimes not. I wonder if this is related to the wake mod as sometimes I have a nice long wake and other times (in 7 m/s seas right now) it goes away.

My particles are at 100% and I do wait for the wake to form.

The very strange part is when I look to the left of my bow sometimes I can see the splash but when I look right at it it goes away.

Anyone else?

Sombers 3D waves are not the problem either.

How do I get my bow splash back?

Its getting worse!

Now enemy ships show no smoke even from 500 meters!

God I hate computers!

What are your driver-settings, Anisotropic Filtering in particular?
Try to raise that one as high as possible (8x, or even 16x).

Reboot your PC, and start your game without touching any other program...this is to ensure the largest possible free RAM upon loading.
Now when you finally load and get in your command-room, wait a couple of minutes, before you hit outside view...this is to ensure all sounds and graphics in your uboat's area are pre-loaded correctly.

Still no bow-wake?

CRITICAL MELTDOWN:o:o:o:o

I had the wake mod and it did change my bow wake. As far as I could tell. I took it out and did a fresh install of game and GWX. All is better now.

I already removed everything from my harddrive to do a total reinstall.

Thanks for the info anyway.

I will keep my card on 16X anisotropic.

Maybe I will avoid the longer wakes mod.

Can anyone recommend a good 6600GT driver besides the latest forceware or are they the best/most stable?

Also, I want to clean this computer. Is regiclean a good product? Is it free?

I use regularly Ccleaner. It's freeware and does a good job.

I had something like this way back.

The Bow-spray on most ships would dissapear and the waves would become choppy and a bit later my Computer would crash.

For me It was the stupid Catalyst bollocks driver from ATi whenever you used high AA AT settings and whatnot. Since i saddled to Omega it's no prob at all:hmm:.

I checked out omega drivers but the last update for XP was in 2005. Does this sound right?

Have heard they are good too! However I still use Catalysts (more frequent updates) minus that system hog of a control panel! ATI tray tool works a darn sight better. Haven't had any glitches at all!

For anyone who wants some in-depth info about ATI drivers and how to optimise them the following link might be interesting:

Probably well known to most but mentioned here just in case somebody doesn't know it exists!!
