Just want some confirmations on LWAMI 3.06:
1. Do i have to set .ini setting to 100% to have a realistic nixie behavior(torp exploding on nixie). But if i do this won't i be setting that for the tins countermesaures aswell?
2.Are all the fixes in 1.04 is also included in LWAMI 3.06?
Thx before for replying

Never mind LWAMI 3.06 comes with JSGME. Easy to instal and uninstall

I'm fixing the issue with the Nixie and other decoys. In the next version of LWAMI, it would be best to set the .ini file to 100%, so the NIXIE works as it used to.
In terms of 1.04 and LWAMI 3.xx, they cover different things, so there wasn't much I had to do to update LWAMI for 1.04, although I still managed to miss a couple the first two times around.

Why I launch four SS-N-27ASW at 10,15,20 and 25 miles and nothing launch any torpedo?:o
Why in helo at 23:00 pm whith clouds at 150 ft , the Helo at 200 ft, and rain at 1700 yds.... say "visual contact" of a Submarine under 80 fts underwater ?

1) I've fixed the SS-N-27 and SS-N-16 problems for the next version (available today, hopefully).
2) Aircraft have FLIR and other visual detection gear that allows them to see shallow submarines in bad weather and at night. The fact that DW failed to model this correctly produced the absurd situation where a submarine could be directly under a helo or aircraft with all it's mast up, and not be detected visually. This was simply wrong, and has been corrected. The detection ranges for submerged submarines decreases significantly at night or in bad weather. The actual depth at which individual submarines can be detected, depends on their height.

David

Great work Luftwolf. Thx a lot for the mod. Btw why is the 65 torpedo now only able to attack surface targets. This is supposed to be realistic? If so God the west has got big advantage with their superior noise dampening, superior sonar sensor and now superior weapon. Thx again. Hope you'll get that nixie done. It would be sweet.

The 65-76 torpedo is THE gold standard for ASuW weaponary. It's a wakehomer with a very long range (50nm @ 30kts, not currently modelled, but will be LWAMI 4.xx) and a massive warhead. One shot is more than enough to sink a Tico and two such torpedoes will sink a Nimitz (in game).
These weapons were originally unguided, and carried a nuclear warhead, the 65-73.
To replace the 65cm that was in DW originally, the 53cm has been converted to the latest Russian wireguided torpedo, a 53cm torpedo called the UGST, which is roughly equivalent to the ADCAP.
So the ASuW capability of the Akulas has been increased (realistically) by some margin, with some small sacrifice of ASW capability in terms of wireguided torpedoes.

David

Luftwolf,
You should release a single version every 6 months. :arrgh!:

Ive just downloaded your 3.07. Nice improvement over 3.06. The thing i like most is that now the AI is more challenging:up:. Sinking them would actually feel like something now.

Hi Guys,
I just installed the bare bones LWAMI ver 307 beta? using the JSGME installer.
LW is that what it still is a beta? I saw you post it today for testing:D
I guess You don't worry about running the Graphics bat file? I ran that in ver 305?
Don't worry about me finding a bugs I would not know one if I saw it. :D
I am a "OLD" Newbee to DW not to Subsims but to DW. I have had all the subsims over the years. But I think DW is the best I have seen.
I know this is crazy but I started with Bill's Sicilian Wedding I want to see if I can make that umpire pickup :D I have been to that point before and that Helo just fly's around me and never makes the pickup:down:
If he does that again I think I will grab the SAM Luncher fire a round in front of him may be he will see me. :D Just Kidding:D
Is there any way of checking something out to be sure I have 307?
I started out last night with LWAMI 305 and was on way to tango and came to PD and by mistake hit F3:down: and damage my Radar.
So I started mission again and installed LWAMI ver 307.
Bet you and sick and tired reading this
Regards
Lane :D
Well there goes my Sicilian Wedding mission, scratch that one.
Just got to the Alpha Dive point. Found out I have to install
V307 over V306. I just had V307 installed.
No Problem will work on correct install.

Edited- deleted my so called 'help' as:
1) Just seen above and you're sorted.
2) The quoted route to my 'nirvana' was apparently 'special' ;)

My situation, if it helps, was LW advised new install of DW + 1.04 followed by LWAMI 306. This meant copying over 'Scenarios' and the Finiteless sound mods. I used the 306 full package which automaticaly expanded the graphics now incorporating the superb new 3D models both into stock and the mod.
No I never specifically said this... there is no reason to do this.
What I said was "for the purposes of TESTING the distributions" it was best to use fresh 1.04.
For the end user it doesn't matter at all, as long as the graphics are in the archive and the database and doctrine folders are for the current version.
Cheers,
David

David as by the time I'd posted details to 'help' Lane he was sorted the stuff you quote above has been edited out.
Anyways I said '' My situation..............'' but no matter I do see that what happened en route (a lot !!) is not now relevant and could be confusing.

I just down loaded 3.07 but I am not sure I did it right. Would someone be kind enough to give me a quick walk through on the steps. I have 3.06 but don't have or I don't believe I got 3.07. It does not show 3.07 on the very neat splash screen

Verify that you have 3.06 installed first. It's here if you need it: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showpost.php?p=408984&postcount=3
Then install the upgrade over it. http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=105511
There's also a quick walkthrough of how to configure the installer to add the update in instead of doing it manually. But really, all you need to do to install either of these (models aside) is to copy and paste two folders (db and doct).

I don't think the splash screen has been updated, yet.
