View Full Version : Cannot complete campaign mission 1?

I tried searching for an answer but came up empty, so I must have
done something wrong with the install.....DW, 1.04 patch, LWAMI 3.05
and the quick fix.

As soon as I start the first mission of the Russian Rebellion campaign,
I get an announcement that the mission cannot be completed. This
happens like 2 seconds into the game, before I can do anything.

Does anybody know what's going on with this?

Thanks in advance.

what platform are you using, and is anything marked complete in the status screen?

Don't know, but I suggest it has something to do with the changed detection ranges (or something like that) of the mods. I guess a hostile platform detects you.

Try playing the first mission with some other platform, if possible.

The sonar capabilities of some ships has been increased considerably (over what was previously practical deafness), so this is a plausible answer to the issue.

I guess you play the Akula. And it did happen even before patches and mods. Sometimes there is victor just too close. Check 'truth' when you find such problem and give exact messages and info.

Woo ooo... "It's not my fault, did I do that?" :p

If it's 688, it must be something new. 688 should be piece of cake. There is Chinese Kilo nearby, maybe that can be source of the problem.
Will try ..

I just finished playing it with the 688 and it took all of 4 seconds to classify the SSN's and surface vessels thru the scope.:arrgh!:

OK, as the 688I that pretty much confirms that you're being detected at mission start. The starting posits in the beginning are somewhat random though. Out of 4 tries, I was only counterdetected at startup once. [Edit: Removed skepticism about beating this with the 688I and LW/Ami]. If you start off at a safe distance, its not difficult to tag the ships at the harbor entrance, and its not too tricky to get near the entrance itself to tag the ships in the harbor.

I too was detected once per 4 tries. Oscar II got too close. There is Victor III, Oscar II, and 'friendly' Akula. All positions quite vary each time. Just try it again.

hah, right! It take four seconds to just RAISE the `scope. I did it in thirty seconds. (my boat wouldn't go to PD quick enough!):arrgh!: :yep:

If you want the non-crit objective, it will take a few minutes.

But that is the question:

To want the non-crit objective or not to have.

My comment was based on after my scope was raised. ;)

Also, that didn't take into effect of all of the radio comms you have to wait on and the other objective.
