Folks I'm running GW1.1a and the only time I see aircraft is late in the war bombing my base. Come on what's the point of me buying flak guns if I don't get a chance to use them. Is there anyway I can see some action and take on those fly boys?

Oh god how I envy thee. You don't want aircraft. Trust me.

If you're running a TC higher than 256 aircraft will not reliably spawn.

When cruising around the coast TC anywhere from X1 to X32 the only time I go above X256 is when crossing the ocean.

A few little tips from me that are free of charge:
- Be GLAD not to see many aircraft. Especially late in the war.
- Always keep the best lookouts on deck to see the aircraft at the earliest possible time.
- If you see an aircraft don't man the deck guns but dive deep and stay submerged for at least 30 minutes.
- The AA guns are not there for you to go out and shoot down aircraft but to add a small measure of protection in case you get jumped unexpectedly by an aircraft and have no time to dive.
- Late in the war aircraft may appear out of the clouds a few hundred yards behind you without you detecting them.
- If you go out there searching for aircraft you're more or less searching for trouble. Because even if you manage to shoot one single down you can be sure that more will aircraft and possibly ASW ships will follow.

But I won't keep you :D :know:

If I don't put my best lookouts but still have a full bar, will it work?

Maybe but why tempt fate? Better safe than sorry no matter how good they are..... DIVE!!!!

Steed, ditto on what Woof1701 says. You do not want to take them on, unless you have a death wish. ;) Early war to mid 41 maybe, but after that not at all. :yep:

Well I got to defend myself if they come out of the blue which they have not around England but on the east cost of America I have been jumped on a couple of times. The last one on a clear day no enemy warships and no radar warning? Was I bombed from high up and if so that was bloody near me. ;)

I will keep an eye on the situation now in late 1942, I was just concern about the lack of aircraft that was all.
