Nice JC...

You reckon you could include a periscope TDC in the next version?

NYGM TDC version is a little less "in the way" I think, and might be the best option.

Hi guys,

Great idea for a mod so I thought I would try it. So, having downloaded version 2 with the additional mods I've extracted it into the MODS folder.

Then, to be safe I removed ALL mods via JSGME after having clicked Rollback in SH3 Commander.

I then added some mods in this order:

GWX - 23rd December Corrections
GWX - Integrated Orders
GWX - 16km Atmosphere
GWX - Main Movie Das Boot
GWX - No Medals on Crew

Then finally 'GWX Upgrade Tools&Dials V0.2'

So, no errors reported I launched SH3 via SH3 Commander and tried out a single test mission and the Naval Academy Torpedo Test - but there is no change to the screen - no slideouts, map tool changes or anything. The mod has made no difference.

I have tried this 4 times now, loading the mod at different times but I still see no difference - can anyone please advise me on this - am I doing something wrong?

Cheers all!!

Fixed it!

Stupidly I didn't relaise there was a folder WITHIN a folder - the second one had the mod! After putting this in the MODS folder it was fine.

Looks good though - keeps the screen nice and clear.

Cheers!

and glad to see that you realised that,
i was about to sujest that exactely, the Mod folder
is in the same folder with the Documentation folder,
I allways pack that way mi Mods...

As for the NavMap tools on the
navigation Map, if they don't show up
emidiatly you have to click the Help Question mark on the
Tools bar at the top were all the tools are located,
then you'll see diferent tools ....

Nicely done. I really like how the GUI is alot less cluttered. At night on the surface, that is a BIG help.

Got that message too, but only because I wanted to download both packs at the same time. After I waited for the first to finish I could download the second without any problems.

And it's a great pack of course, many thanks for sharing.

Hi mate,

Many thanks for that truly great mod! That was the only one thing that I really missed from GWX.

OK, you may tell that I am a perfectionist, but could you please tell me what and how should I modify if I want the time bar not to interfere with the officers stations iconbar when I want to check the date (because now the month is folded by the watch officer's station icon). This issue would be solved I guess if the officer stations iconbar would only slideout when the cursor is very near to the bottom left. An alternative solution could be to relocate the date and local time tooltip to another part of the window where it wouldn't interfere with other things. I would prefer the first soution if possible.

Many thanks.

Hi mate,
sorry but to relocate the date over the time and comprest. bar
it is rather dificult if not impossible cause it would interfere with
messages screen, and the only way i see it is to make
a complete new Bar wich i'm working at the moment,
but it would take a time yet....

As for the officers icons they will not slide out if you cross
the mouse cursor slowlly over the edge were the clock is in
the time comprss. bar...
Try it slowlly and you'll see it would stay bellow the screen limits...

Many thanks jcwolf for your advice. It really works that way!

I have also docked the time+time compression panel (modded the menu_1024_768.cfg) and this way it is even easier to activate the date tooltip. (I think it is always good to be aware of the time and time compression, and that small panel doesn't ruin the "first-person feeling" that much. )

Good hunting!

I know you all must've been asked this a thousand times, but my UZO is filled with the bow wave, thus slowing down the frame rate and reducing visibility to zero when looking 30-40 degrees ahead. I had to reinstall GWX recently, after a hard-drive format. Can you help?

Cheers everyone!

Just one question to clear my doubts. I install the version 0.2, and then If I want it I can install the mod that puts the dials with 3d glass or with out glass? Thats mods are "a upgrade" to this one?

Great dial mod by the way.

N-Vidia workaround was improved. First time when the user (with N-Vidia) uses UZO the spray bug will appear. If the user uses Ctrl+P that option will be stored in the main.cfg file and will not be necessary to switch off again that particle system (cause the main.cfg will be updated). The Ctrl+P now is linked only with the particle system from the sub so the other particles in the game will not be affected. When you will exit to free camera or any other view the particle system from the sub will be automatically restarted and the player will not have any issues related to it. After this the player can enter/exit UZO station without any other worries about Ctrl+P.
We didn't make this ON by default because there are the users of ATI cards that have no need of this workaround.
The N-Vidia users can also add in the main.cfg in video section, this line:
HideParticlesNearView=Yes;

I've installed and used the 0.2 version of the mod and I like it like hell - especially the big dials, that allow me to navigating and plotting on the map much easier and less stressing (no more "180 degrees, you freak, NO 177 nor 184 but 180, 180 only, no even one more or less!!! Ghrrr!!").

But I'd suggest some fixes, if you don't mind. What I mean is not that the mod is not good, cause it is. I mean that it would be even bigger pleasure to use it with some redoes. A list follows:
- I can't see the date if my WO is on heis watch, as the date text hides under WO icon.
- I can't read the messages when in the map (F5) because of the light background and the white message letters. Most of the time I spend not in the interior or exterior view, but on the map (when sailing, plotting...) and it's a real challenge to track all the text. I think there should be a darkish background under the text box that allows to read easily, like in stock.
- Quite often I'm in need to read the dials and text messages simultaneusly and there is not such possibility. It would be great if one could 'stick' a dial or the bottom menu (so that they don't hide under the edge of the screen when the cursor goes somewhere else).

That's all I remember now. I'll write more if something comes to my head. :)

Thanks for the mod.

Thanks. That's not exactly what I meant, but will give it a try - maybe it helps.

What about making the text box and the dials 'sticky'? Is there any possibility?

And could you please help me to find the mode that gives you the TDC dials in UZO/scope view? Search doesn't help... :(

EDIT: Found it:

This mod is too much for me (simply i dont need and dont like those big dials) but i really like your brand new officers icons... so is there any way to some "lite" version of this mod that will change only main interface? It would be nice to leave officers icons on the right and default SHIII/GWX dials on the left (and make them sliding in/out) and in the middle add those console (with clock and TC) and make it to not slide?
Or - can you give some hint how to do it?

The third instrument is the compass. The three dials appear semi-transparent behind the officer icons and none of them are accurate. There also appears to be a time compression control on this panel as well. The CE flyout comes out above it. ANy ideas?

I have the same problem as Apeboy and I have posted a screenshot to help you understand what it is. I have just found out recently about the large 6Simfeelings dials and TDC slideouts and so I d/led the GWX 1.02 compatible package with integrated orders.
