View Full Version : Replacement Extra Features CD (Europe)?

Hi,

I recently bought DW after playing with 688(I) since '97 and look forward to countless hours of new enjoyment!

The game installs and runs great but I think I've got a duff Extra Features CD (this is from the Black Bean release in Europe). Instead of cool sub material, I have a HTML brochure for some place called "La Cassinazza".

Has anybody encountered this before and know how I can get this replaced? I can't find any way of contacting Black Bean for support - I'm in the UK. The game was bought new from Amazon UK and Amazon only accept returns if unopened (and I'd rather have the game around anyway).

I realise most of the missions are available at Sub Guru but I'd really like to have a look at the Nautilus video.

This is a great community BTW! I have tried posting at the SCS forum too but you seem to get a lot more traffic.

Any and all suggestions much appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

How bout trying the official Black Bean DW Forums here : http://forum.videogame.it/forumdisplay.php?forumid=78 or looking at the Black Bean - Dangerous Waters website here : http://www.dw.blackbeangames.com/default.asp

Cheers

I noticed that not many people have posted in the official BlackBean forums and BlackBean have never responded.

Also BlackBean never updated their DW website with the extra exclusive european release content which IIRC they said they would and had various e-mails with one of the guys about it who gave me various rubbish reasons for not doing so.

so has anyone heard from Black Bean?

bTW I was given the extra missions from the euro release.

Yes, I did notice that the Black Bean doesn't seem to be providing much support. Their site only has options for the French, Germans and Italians - and I don't think it's for product support - looks more like for press & trade.

If you have a contact at BB, I wouldn't mind giving it a try (if it's OK with you sharing the email address).

I don't have a contact per se, just an e-mail to and fro. He stopped responding in the end.

That's fine and thanks very much for responding - all your comments were very helpful! At least, I don't have to think about trying BB for support any more. The game is the important thing and I suppose my Extras CD might be considered unique in its way. :)

Some years ago, when I was fairly new to computers, I bought a copy of F22ADF. I inserted into the CD Rom drive and expected the installation program to begin running.

Suddenly some music began to play. It was Barry Manilow. I'm ashamed to say I sat there for 15 mins listening to Barry manilow thinking it was some sort of intro and any second now the setup program would launch.

Of course it turned out that, although the CD Rom was printed as if it was a flight simulation, it was actually Barry Manilow's greatest hits.

I was younger then and new to computers. I guess those 15 mins are gone forever.... but it taught me to recognise an installation procedure....

That happened to me too, with a game CD that contained a different game. The store where I got it usually doesn't accept returns of opened software, but they made an exception after verifying that, indeed, the CD had the wrong label (or, actually, the correct label had the wrong CD).
