So i've come up with the idea of editing a model in sh3. can someone explain to me the limitations of what the modellers have to work with.

what i'd like to do is edit the viic/41 to make it its own unique boat, and not a copy. is this possible to add only a view small things to the 3d hull, like life raft canisters and the atlantic bow?

thanks in advance

ps; i am versed in 3d studio max, i just know nothing how the sh3 engine when it comes to modelling

What are you planning to make ?
And I take it you want it as a player unit ?

i was pondering the idea of editing the viic/41 model ( which is the same as the viic model) and adding liferaft cannisters and editing the bow to sweep a little forward.

Well I imagine a sub is no different in that respect then to any other ship or unit

The only problem being the actual VIIC\41 is an AI sub
Was changed a while back as wasnt really used ingame
The ingame VIIC goes through changes to become essentially the VIIC\41 anyway

so you cant choose the viic/41 in game?
