View Full Version : Type XXI Radar Mast out of Place!!!

Hello,

I have installed GWX and all was fine until I installed the Type XXI modern skin (the black one).
So, now the radar mast is showing out of the conning tower right in mid air :(

Anyone can tell me where to adjust the mast position? What's the file and where is it?

It sounds as if the skin needs to be GWX compatable, It's like some of the "older" VII skins are not compatable with the "Rotating Radar" It should not be too hard to adjust the postion just rather fiddly with Hex editor, Save load, save load, well you get the idea

Nope I did no import int any dat file! I just copied copied the files of the mod into SH3 folder! or better yet I used the JSGME :)

What is the file I must edit with hexedit or not?

Check to see whether the XXI skin is made up with a DAT file, if it is then you need to extract the TGA files with SH3 Unpacker (found here...http://www.delraydepot.com/tt/sh3.htm).

Once you have the files you will need to create a new folder structure so that the files are placed into the SH3 Textures folder by JSGME.

IIRC - XXI Skin > data > Textures > TNormal > tex (I'm never too sure which way round the last 2 folders are but you can easily check).

Ok Guys! Thank you for all your replys :)

I have solved this. I installed a mod a made when GW first came out and that restores the stock SH3 sub skins.
After that I installed the type 21 modern skin and it all worked well :)

I don't like the original GW sub skins (i think they are the earliest fubar's skins) cause they are so shinning and clean light grey and they make me remember like I'm playing with some fresh painted Revell models lol :lol:

I prefer the latest fubar's skins which are darker and weathered and feel more realistic :)

The problem is at the sensors.dat using the gw1.1a version of this file, the radar mast is on the correct place for the type 21 in this mod.
