View Full Version : SH3 Commander; could this be incorporated: complete patrol log?

Often as I start up Commander I get a message relating to transfers and AWOLs. Also, as I have them toggled as a selection, I'm sure at some point to get malfunctions and sabotaging.
I love the personnel file you can generate and update as part of Commander. Part of that is a patrol log. But what I'd like is if that could also include other things, too.
A listing of your crew: recording (names and dates of) enlistments and dismissals, transfers and AWOLs and, :cry: deaths on a patrol-by-patrol basis. Possibly promotions, medals and qualification awards too.
A listing of malfunctions, and of sabotaged equipment, that you experienced during the patrol.Is this something anyone else might like, too?
Having somewhere to write free text to allow Kaleuns to add their own comments would be great as well.

Re #1: You can get a crew list through SH3Cmdr. Select "Manage your crew..." from the list of available options and then click on the "Crew List" button.
It lists Rank, Name, #Pat, Experience, Health, Medals, Badges, and Qual for all *current* serving crew. Ex-crew are not included as it would make the list a bit confusing and hard to navigate.
BTW, if you create this list *before* you create the Personnel File, your Personnel File will automatically create a link to it (under "U-boat Commands" you'll be able to click on the U-boat number to display the list).
Re #2, possibly not a bad idea. But one thing I will never do is provide a list of the "selected" malfunctions before or during a patrol, LOL! ;)

Kewl! I didn't know about the crew listing button stuff.
Actually, what I'd meant for #1 wasn't what the current crew compliment was for any given patrol, but a record of the changes that occurred between patrols. For instance, when starting Commander when I get a message about one of the crew being transferred off my boat, having that stored somewhere as part of the patrol history.
As to #2, well :D . . .
I'd meant, of course, that the information would only become 'available' after a patrol was completed. Wouldn't make a great deal of sense to have that displayed before or during (unless your XO has a crystal ball and can use it ;) )
