Hello all !
First, sorry for my bad english.
I thanks you for your welcome and i want here to tell some things that makes me laugh now trying to learn this beautifull sim :)

1°) I was using my nav map. See a contact bearing north detected with my TB-16. Going narrowband it seems that it's an akula class submarine. I'll change my course heading to north trying to listen with my sphere array the higher frequency. But the frequencies don't appear. I'll close up to it and still no high frequency, nothing. but damn, what is this contact. I'll decide to go thruth on and nothing !!! .... i was tracking the mirror contact !! :D

2°) I was tracking a akula just front of me from 3 miles bearing south. Hehe, i was thinking at my setting for my torpedoes when suddenly my crewman just say torpedoes in the water .... bearing 010. But there is nothing here .... !!???. I was thinking, ok no wonder, ahead flank and 90° turn, i have some time in front of me .... and ... boom !!!!!. After viewing the replay, i'll saw that the akula throws a missile droping the torpedos just north of me. :)

3°) Navmap, contact sonar bearing 220. Got it with the sphere and the towed array. But in narrowband, none frequencies appears. there is the peak, here but no frequency. Trying to closing up, and still this contact, broadband and narrowband, sphere array but no frequencies. Erf, it's a bug !!! Go truth on !! and ... a sailing boat !!! :)

4°) And what finally what i have learned, never never slowdown until you are waiting enough long to be sure that you have escape torpedoes !!!! :) And these passive torpedoes are really ....... hummm !!.

Trully a great game. I think that now it will be in my HD with Fa:AF for long long time.
I have downloading the red rising campaign and Lyami mod too. But for the Lyami mod as i am newbee i believe that it's make the game too hard to me for learning the sim.
Thanks and see you soon all !

Eric.

We've all been there, done that one time in our gaming life. :rotfl::rotfl:

For TMA off your TA, I might suggest you make 45 degree course changes, once the towed array catches up, watch the waterfall for the contact that doesn't move...that's the true contact.

To catch a submarine on the sphere NB is pretty unusuall unless the AI or newb makes a bad mistake of going fast while close to you. That's why it's so important to utilize your TA for detection.

Boy oh boy!

Just like being back on boats. Non-Quals! Dinq's!

Where's your "Look-up" book? Whoa!! Look at all these unanswered look-ups.

Better get goin to "School of the Boat" non-qual. Ya don't want to be restricted aboard when we hit that liberty port.

Submarines once,
Submarines twice,
Holy jumpin J---- C-----.

We go up
and we go down,
We don't even F--- around,

Aooogah, aooogah!
Dive, dive.

Actually, that's aimed more at my fellow American bubbleheads.

Welcome aboard!

It's a steep learning curve, but fun. My best advice is to creat your own missions. Compare whats really happening with what your observing.
