Hello
I've started skinning, but I'm really confused about which file/s I should be looking for to skin a certian U-Boat.
Could someone please help me ?
Something like this

file

file
file
fileVIIC (this one I've got sorted out)

Hi mate,
If you have the files that are needed for the VIIC then all you need to do is find the corresponding ones for the II & IX.
They are all called the same the only thing that changes is the type name.
Note - there is no mask.tga for the type 2 as it never has a snorkel.
Just a helpful hint - I still have my GW1.1a files and have always used the textures from there, for 2 reasons, they're easier to get at & they're larger texture files (2048x2048 not 1024x1024).
I can't list them for you now but if no-one has by the time I'm home then I will.

Thankyou so much for your reply, I've been sitting here for most of the day just waiting for someone like you to give additional information. I'm on a role with the VIIC skin, to which I've commenced a thread with the skins contained within.
Mate, if is not too much too ask I would like to take you up on the offer of listing the files for the different boat files, I've already got requests for the IIA which is one of the confusing ones; because unlike the VIIC files, this boat files are not the same type setup.
My endstate is to have a master template of each variant boat on my PC, so I can access them easily.
I'll be releasing another VIIB/C tonight, but I'm not able to commence various other boats for the above mentioned reason.

Type IIA Files - These are found in the NSS_Uboat2A.dat & Turm2A_1_hd.dat
1- Typ 2A_Hull.tga
2- Typ 2A_Hull.tga
3- Conning_Stuff.tga
4- BRk_Glass.tga
5- Pick.tga
If you're using this in GWX then you can leave out no.2 as this texture governs the hull and deck.
Type IID to follow shortly.:up:
Edit - Type IID has exactly the same files, you just need the Typ 2D_Hull.tga, this format of naming works for all the Type II's.
For a quick solution to the names of files for the IX boats d/l one of mine from here, these are GWX ready and include all the tga names you will need.

These IIA files are giving me grief. I've found them (DAT files), I've unzipped them, I've skinned the files for the IIA, but how the hell do I get them back to DAT file ? I've got Paint Pro 7, but this program as far as I can see does not have the ability to convert files back to DAT, or do I have to convert them back ? can I just save the skinned files in the same folders ? If I need to convert these back to DAT what is a good freeware program ?
