OK, I do not use SH3 commander. Just straight up GWX/Sobers water mod and that is it. Is there any way in the files to put fatique to zero or something. My crew gets tired just pulling up their pants for the watch. Too much micro-management.:nope:

Is there a reason you don't want to use Commander?

yes, you only have to edit your basic.cfg file

In Basic.cfg, replace the fatigue_coef area with this:

Maybe I'll give it a go. Was there not a specific Commander version for GWX?

SH3 Commander 2.7 is the latest edtion. 2.6 can aslo be used I believe.

There are 4 files in SH3 Commander that need to be changed to use with GWX. I'm sure you can find them on this forum.

Commander does many things besides give you an option to remove fatigue. Most people here use it. Once you get it, you'll understand. Or just take a look at the documentation here:

http://www.users.on.net/~jscones/software/SH3Cmdr%20Help.html

And read this thread:

Switch all to zero? yes

well, I'm no expert.... I found the 'remove fatigue' mod here at subsim about 1 year ago
I just replaced the [FATIGUE_COEF] part in basic.cfg file with the code posted above
it works

Need I be in port to install? Once installed do I do the rollback deal? Do I launch the game through commander at this point?

Yep, be in port.

Deactivate any mods via JSGME.

Install SH3Cmdr 2.7

Then copy the files found here.....
http://www.users.on.net/~jscones/GWX/ (http://www.users.on.net/%7Ejscones/GWX/)
(GWX Cfg files for SH3 Commander) Instructions are in the manual.

Re-enable your mods and run SH3Cmdr.

You can start SH3 via SH3Cmdr everytime. This is good if you're using the Malfuctions & Sabotage models in Cmdr as they will be changed/randomised each time.

(FYI - Read SH3Cmdr's readme aswell;). It's the first thing you'll be asked if you ask a question.)

FAO JScones - GBP will do

Yes, use SHCommander. The fatigue thing can be a real hassle, I will save all of my energy for evading destroyers, etc.

Question though....being I'm a purist and like GWX in it's purest form(I do have the water mod by Sober and nothing else) will my crew get better as time goes on?

Right now I get about 3 patrols before I hang a set between my legs and get sunk;) messing with the DD and my crew really does not get time to get better.....

Your crew will gain stamina and experience with every patrol

Interesting Vanjast.....I posted the following in WaW last night but it didn't elicit a response so I thought i'd put it here...

I've been thinking.....which is not often admittedly....but I think i've an idea of modelling crew performance without micro management. I run NYGM with crew fatigue turned off.....cos its just pants. Its not NYGMs fault, they did the best they could given the limits of the game engine. But as far as i'm concerned, I expect my crew to know their jobs and get on with them.

This is all well and good...except for when crew start getting injured and killed. Realisticly, not only would this have an effect on crew morale but would also necitate adjusting the boats "optimum" watch pattern to cater for the extra work load now put on the crew, i.e. supplementing dead/injured crew men tasks.

It would be cool then to start a patrol with the minimum number of crew required to operate the boat at 100% and no fatigue system. Then allow only crew death/injury to affect efficiency/morale and hence overall efficiency of each compartment. No micro management required except for perhapps moving crew around to maintain a decent ballance of effiency as a whole for the boat.

Going further, if compartmental damage repair efficiency could also be modelled to depend on overall efficiency of crew members in each respective compartment then we would have none of the micro management when crew all present and correct, but some micro management when the going gets tough.

I like the idea, so have a think and feel free to shoot it down.

Cheers, Hans.
