Can anyone mod the game so that we use a small bit of compressed air everytime we change depth or shoot an eel?:hmm:

You guys can do it!

That would be cool, however as many times as it has been looked at before... it seems to be hard-coded.

Wasnt it modelled in SHII? Not sure tho. But I have a faint memory of it being modeled.

Wow....

I am employing a new proceedure for realism with respect to the compressed air. Still experimenting though.:arrgh!:

Everytime I surface I must hit the emergency blow once (required). This way repeated quick surface and dive (Biscay) will take thier toll on my compressed air supply.:stare:

Also...if I am at 2 knots and at, say, 30 meters it would take me a looooong time to get to periscope depth so I just blow and then as the boat rises I hit "P" again to stop at periscope depth....again this is taxing my compressed air. I just have to figure out if this is too loud if I am near a DD.:hmm: What about emergency blow while silent running?:hmm:

Although it just occured to me.........:hmm:

Is there any negitive effect in the game if I run out of compressed air?

Well, on the one patrol I ran with the LRT mod where I got seriously banged up by attacking bombers, my compressed air was the only thing that kept me from being dragged down to the depths by the flooding - after hours of up and down battles by my repair crews, I just barely managed to get surfaced with my last burst of compressed air - I assume that if I had run out I would have been dragged down to my destruction, so I would count that as a negative effect :)
