Task force Hunt in Bay of Bengal

Decided to give NorOps a rest for today, seeing it's the 24th. Started a new career in Silent Hunter III instead.

On patrol in the Bay of Bengal in 1944, my radio officer picks up enemy radar signals. I dive, pick about four contacts up on hydrophone, and move to intercept.

Contacts turn out to be a single Destroyer guarding a Dido, a Pyro Ammunition Ship, a Large Tanker, and a Liberty Ship.

First approach fatally wounds the Dido and sinks the Large Tanker. This gets me the attention of the marauding Destroyer, which is subsequently dispatched with a Falke.

Second approach takes out the Pyro and Liberty ship, which are now practically defenceless due to the sinking of their Destroyer and Cruiser. The guns of the Liberty Ship still prevent me from surfacing, however.

What you have there Safe is the resupply group from Operation Crimson I believe

If you had followed it then it would have met up with a big fat carrier task force :up:

Oh well, my loss.

I saved the game and set a course north-wards, then alt-tabbed out. When I returned, GWX was playing the Suicide Run! theme from Call of Duty and the Death Screen told me the sub had been destroyed in a collision (ramming, most likely).

SH3 Commander has me listed, sugarcoatingly enough, as "retired". I'll try to revive my commander and load the saved game, so that my entire crew is not listed as "Dead".
