Next I did some tweaking on the Officers Floppy Cap to get rid of the Spots and gaps and this is where all HECK BROKE LOOSE!!:o

Now THAT is what I call Out Of Uniform!!!:damn:

I'm useing 3ds Max 9 and Pack3d.
I know I'm missing something, somewhere so can anyone point this Guppy in the right direction?:hmm:

Iam sorry that i cant help you but you seam to be a good modeler :)

hope someone here can help you but reason i write to you is that the last picture it nearly looks like the captain have an eyepad.

So i thought, It would be so cool to se the captain whit an eyepad.
Maybe that is something you can do also :)

Good luck anyway

I thought about doing that just for kicks.:arrgh!:

First I gotta figure out this Z - Y thing going on with 3ds Max.:hmm:

OK, Z - Y just un-check rotate. Got that.
Now, I got to figure out the flip, modify, flip again stuff I presume.
As the model sits properly it's just,
Ummm, kinda inside out and partly invisible I'd say.

Moin,

the axises are as follows:

3D graphics program > 3DPack: X = X / Y > Z / Z > -Y

Your problem can be fixed by rotating the object in Pack3D. (XY: / XZ: / YZ: ) A value of 3.14159 (pi) gives a rotation of 180°.

I thank you for your reply.

After MUCH reading in the threads and carefully,
playing around ALL nite....

I got it figured out!!

Exported with Pack3d, imported into 3ds Max 9, exported from same, repacked.

And all is OK!!!:sunny: :sunny:

Now I can fix the blasted floppy cap!!;)
And then do the new caps for the enlisted!!!
And maybe an eye patch just for giggles and more simple hands on.:rotfl:

As a note, I Imported into 3ds Max 9, adjusted the cap top, THEN flipped and exported!
Worked perfect! No more spots on the top of cap.

I also noted that Hamburger did a cap awhile back.
Perhaps this is his originaly?

Needs abit of tweaking for proper fit and then the Texture work but Ya got's to start somewhere!:)

This is a rework of the floppy hat mod. Not an original by me!
