COOL!! I got it.
Now, do you have a design for the dvd or cd itself?
I have a Light Scribe burner that can burn an image to the disk itself and
I'd like an Offical image release please:D

That would be so cool Seth!
Light Scribe does a kinda Grey Scale into the disk itself but I can take
a color image and it will convert it.
I'm not running GWX at this time BUT!
Don't mean I don't want to or don't mean I don't want a Official Copy!!

Just to be clear... we are not sending or mailing these out. It is up to the user to make their own DVD / CD covers.

I wish I could print myself one. ... I will have to wait on that one.

How do you print off a DVD cover so there isn't anything cut off? I printed it off and it looks great, but I had to leave some of the card stock on the right edge because it got cut off. I used Paint to print it off. The dimensions are right, but the right edge of the cover always gets cut off. The lowest dimensions that Paint allows me to use is:

Left - 0.15"
Right - 0.5"
Top - 0.25"
Bottom - 0.251"

If I try to make some of those measurements smaller, they are automatically readjusted. Is there a better way to print the whole thing off?

I just wish I could print those things period. My printer is poop... and light-scribe sounds cool too for DVD/CD tops!

Sorry about doble posting...

Missed this one...

Ok mate try it this way...
Paste the image into a full size A4 page,
you can use a word document for example and past the image in a page,
then print the all page...
And you'll have the all Cover without anything cuted off...

I opened Word and opened the Page Setup window. I set the orientation to landscape with 0.3 margins all around. The paper size is set to Letter. With these settings it looks like it will fit when in Print Layout view, but when I do Print Preview it looks like some will be cut off. The picture size is set to 7.19"x10.64". I tried the A4 paper size but it does the same thing.

Here is a quick screenshot of the DVD/CD image converted to Light Scribe.

http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n12/privateer_2006/Sub/Lite_Scribe.jpg

Note the missing center.
The reason Light Scribe drops the center is that there is a bar code type center
that the burner reads so it knows 2 things.
1. Yep, the right side is up to burn.
2. Indexes the disk so you can burn to the surface more than once and it knows
where to start so your images don't mis-align.

Also the back ground is actually a gold color on the disk.
So, Should I change the center a bit or would you all prefer to do that?

Not complaining now mind you!
Just passing on some info.

So light scribe will not draw the center image... :yep:

I can adjust a bit but then the center X will go to big and
Not correct size with all the rest... :hmm:

Some cut and paste work for your consideration.
This uses parts of your work.
All I did was "shuffle" things around.
The GWX at top would look better without the rust, abit larger,
and centered better.:nope:

Hello,

I actually printed out the Cover Artwork using Corel 11 and found that it works great on a single DVD case but not on the original SH3 DVD case since it is to wide. I just sized the image to fill the printable area on a sheet of matte finished paper after importing it. Since Corel will allow you to view the printable area. It was easy to size the image without losing any of the artwork.

As for the CD Label, I am thinking that I should burn the 5 GWX Files to a CD and then use it as the label. Seems like a great idea. I might just add SH3 Commander to the label as well so I could keep them together. Since my printer (Epson Photo R220) has a CD/DVD tray, it makes printing on CD/DVD's real easy now. All I have to do is apply the label (even the center) 1st, then load and print. I just have to use the new layout I made for printing with the tray.

They look nice but I prefer Color. That's why I bought a Printer that could print right on the CD.

I just wish I could find more Clear Labels & no Logo CD's again. Now, that was a neat effect. :yep:

Madox58

I know that they are working on a version that will do color.
That's just a matter of time.
I only have it cause it was on the new Laptop.
I didn't even know it was there for a month or so!!:nope:
Phillips, I believe, makes disks that have Green, Blue, Red, or Yellow
backgrounds instead of the brushed gold.
I just haven't come across any to try.
The price of the disks are under 2x the cost of normal and going down.
They still don't have dual layer type yet.

JCWolf
