Looking for Donot's officers' cap mod

I am looking for donot's mod which reshapes the officers' caps in SH3 into a realistic U-boat officer cap. I have looked everywhere for it. Any help is appreciated.

You may have trouble finding it as most sites have removed all uploads by donots due to a number of mods that he 'stole' and published under his own name. This one may have been one of the few that he actually did not steal.

I'm reluctant to upload it myself however, for the same reasons :-?

I believe that this is the version which it is claimed that Donots stole. It isn't quite the same as Donots' ( he seems to have done some additional work on it ) but the shape is the same. The cap is actually dark blue and not white as shown in the illustrations.

Yep. I'm afraid it is Russian! If it's any consolation, I don't understand a word of it either :cry: However, I just have a quick look through to see what downloads are shown in the post attachments...they usually have an illustration. Sometimes I'm lucky enough to get something...sometimes not!!.

The guys on the Sukhoy forum have a tremendous amount of talent - just look at the work Anvart, Psy06 and Denis469 have done :rock: and it's a pity we don't always get to know about it here.

PS Have just had a look at a free Russian online translator:-

Very simple to use. Just copy Russian text into window, select English/Russian translation, hit translate button, and within a couple of secs you get what appears to be a pretty understandable translation.

White caps sent. I just did a quick retouch in Paint Shop Pro
after getting the cap Mod posted above.
I noticed a spot from time to time on the very top of the cap
using the white skin so the floppy cap model may need tweaked abit?

I can't see what donots changed... looks exacly the same shape to me

Does anyone know who to credit the Mod to?
I like it and am working on the original TGA file to make it whiteish.
Needs a bit more tweaking but it's looking good.

Hi Boris

No doubt that the cap shape is absolutely identical... right down to the two small imperfections on the upper surface where the hair texture shows through! Donots just seems to have upped the resolution and retouched the hat band and peak. His version had a TGA of 500 odd kb, whereas the version that Mutabor put up on Sukhoy was about 120 kb. So he did do something to improve it! Whether or not this was enough for him to allow the impression that it was all his own work is a different matter!!
