Venatore's Ultimate Sound Mod

[Venatore]

Hello,

This mod contains 23 sound files. The following files were created by me from scratch;
1. Ambient hydrophone sound,
2. Ambient submarine interior,
3. Creak sounds 1 through to 4,
4. Ambient underwater sound, and
5. Both dust underwater sounds.

All other sounds were created by other modders, and all I've done is added extra sounds or adjusted volume, so that all the sounds in this package complement each other.

With regards to the ambient submarine interior sound file ...this is my pride and joy:smug:, it's approxmatley 13 minutes in length. It alone is 101 megs. If you understand german this file will sound dis-jointed to you, and I apologize greatly. If you don't understand german then this file will make you feel that your crew is indeed alive and moving around the U-Boat. It took me close to two weeks:dead:of editing the movie Das Boot sounds and placing them throughout this file. There are other sounds that are not from the movie but this is just some of them;

talking/whispering, footsteps, low rumble of the U-boat, water dripping, movement on the ladder, coughing, sneeze, electronic devices of the U-Boat, hatches, the U-Boat cook moving in the small kitchen and other smaller sounds.

Please remember that some of these sounds were not created by me, but by other fantastic modders:yep:of this forum. The total size of this file package is 140 Megs.

Can you please give feedback on this mod (good/bad) so I can improve the enjoyment for you.

Thank you for this mod, I really like your sounds, it enhances my sub sim sooo much better than NYGM or WAC (although I do like the sub sound on surface for this mod), which I have added your mod to both of these versions. We'll see how GWX versions stack up to your sounds, if not, I will be replacing those sounds with your mod. :D

Thought the Ënglender had invented some HUGHE depth charge over night :doh:

One gripe so far - if im on the surface and order "dive to periscope depth" im getting the ALAAAAARRRRRM! - is that as it should be or should it not be only for the crash dive...? So far i have fixed it by replacing with the default GW1.1a file.

The Crash Dive sounds are found here:
..../Sound/Speech_En/<folder1-9>)/ChE_K_Crash_dive.oog &
ChE_P_Crash_dive.oog & ChE_S_Crash_dive.oog

If you want to use Venatores Diving Sequence.wav sound you could convert it to .oog and replace the above sounds.

Yep your correct with the dive sequence file, I still tried to have the crew running through their drill procedures, I got rid of the first loud ALARM speech, but as for the other alarm speeches you can hear I was unable to delete them due to the amount of other background noises which if deleted would have taken away from the effect. To submerge I always hit the dive control key and trim to the reqiured depth. I only use perescope depth/crash dive for when the Boogyman arrives. This is my method and I'm not trying to justify the alarm squence. I was not 100% happy with it either and this is something I will be addressing. My concern was the enviorment in the U-boat, with members of the forum that spoke German. Thanks for your feedback guy's this is helping with the future releases. :up:

I have trouble with your superb creaks, i think its level 3 creaks that seems to get stuck on an infinate loop:-?

The file seems fine when played outside of sh3, maybe its my lame 5yr old audigy2 soundcard:down:
