This is probably not the first time you get this question, but I'm starting to get desperate, so please bear with me.

I'm in the middle of the ocean on my second patrol with a type II sub, and I can't reload my torpedos. Auto loading is on. Torpedo compartment is full of fresh men. I'm not running silent mode. I've pressed W repeatedly to close the tubes, But when I look at the weapon manage screen I still only see "waiting to be loaded" message. Not any time estimation. I can reload just fine in single missions and when I start a career with another sub than type IIA.

Since I'm new to this game any my hit ratio so far is slightly less than 50% I could really use those extra 3 torpedos.

What's the weather like? You will find you have problems with rough weather. Also is it both forward and stern torp rooms manned? Sometimes you need to have the fbow room manned to get the stern tube loaded. go figure.

"I'm in the middle of the ocean on my second patrol with a type II sub"

Is that really careful ?:D

Do you use silent runnig? If you do the torpedoes will not reload.

Is there enough crew in the torp compartment? Enable and disable silent running, I´ve heard about a bug that when saving while silent running it can happen that the icon is gone after reloading the game, but the silent running status is still there.

Cheers, AS

Thank you for the advice everyone. Still no luck though.

Weather is calm and type IIs only have a bow torpedo compartment I belive. Have tried to switch silient mode on and off, but no effect there.

I have every space in the torpedo compartment ocupied. Including the officer slot. all men above 2/3 energy, and the officer + 1 petty officer have torpedo qualification. I think that should be enough for reloading?

@Corsair: Please explain, I'm a bit daft.

Are we talking internal or external reloads???? Sorry I haven't used IIs for ages so I can't remember if they had external torpedoes. If we are talking about external ones you need to go to the torpedo managment icon and drag the external torpedo to the torpedo tube. Then it will start reloading.

They have internal reloads only.

Is this a Stock 1.4b installation or are you using a Mod?

Sorry was just a bad joke... Actually type II's were not really made to be in the middle of the ocean ( don't think they would have enough fuel to get there and back ). I am sure you only meant you were out at sea... ;)

This is what I suggest and do not know if it will work. Surface the boat. Hit silent running and the cancel that order for regular running. Move all your men out of the torpedo room. Put them all back in and see if that helps. Also, do you have auto loading checked?

There is another issue with the VII with the diesels. Sometimes they do not start (no I do not have SH3 Commander loaded). If I shut them down and just hang out, they will not start again. I have to fiddle around with the crew to get the diesels going again. Perhaps this is your issue here.

Grey wolf mod installed (1.1a), otherwise no modifications. Autoloading is checked.

Well, the middle of the north sea then. :) Yes, its a pain with the small fuel tanks.

Anyway, thank you for the help everyone, but nothing seems to work. Guess I'll have to make do with 3 torpedos untill I can get a new boat.

Right:D I suspect that you are a victim to the 24hr fatigue bug discovered. There is a fix for it here.....http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=94544 at the botom of the first post.

Just remember to enable this fix while in base.

The most easy and simple way of getting by the 24h fatigue mod is to use SH3Cmd. Using it you can edit the fatigue model you want to use, your crew and your sub. It is very useful program and it's a must for SH3.

You can download it from here

Does'nt using TC at 1024 cancel out the 24 fatigue mod?

Yes you're right. As I understand it though it an error in the 24hr Fatigue files. Although your crew will not fatigue at 1024 TC your torps will still never load.

Odd indeed, dismiss the entire lot and go get a real crew. No Nancy boys on this cruise:nope:

I have a problem where one specific tube wont load. The other 5 load OK (in a IXB). I have tried manual and autoload and the offending tube (tube 2) just wont load. Its been like that the whole patrol, in all sorts of weather.
I just fired all my torps as a test. Enabled auto-reload, and everything loaded except tube 2. Weird.

It could be the sabatoge MOD in GW working its little magic as well.
I would fix that 24 hour bug first and if you still have that prob I would say sabatours.

Now I've had enough time to finish the patrol, so I just tried the 24h fatigue fix and it worked perfectly. Thanks a lot.

Now I can stay with my type II sub as long as a want to. :)

Did anyone else ever encounter the tube 2 loading problem with IXD2 submarines that Schemer encountered? I, too, have had this problem (for two patrols in a row now). Any ideas on how to resolve the issue?

Thanks!
