To celebrate the close of external beta testing and the final remaining days of adjustments to The Grey Wolves freeware Expansion for SH3...
We are releasing this trailer to keep you warm while we finish up things at our end. We may be a bit quiet for a while as we tie it all up in a nice, neat package.
I would like to offer my thanks to Stabiz and Ref for putting this video together... and to ALL the beta testers who worked so hard for us... often without much direct feedback in return for their efforts.
Thanks guys... you gave us MUCH useful information... and above all, confirmed that the major elements of GWX work just fine!!!
Three cheers from us to you!
Please enjoy the following video! This video features our single most top secret 3D model created by Ref.

LOL, I forgot about that... Hitler ordered the name change as he was worried about the implications of the potential sinking of a ship bearing the country's name.

Any thoughts/comments about ref's excellent addition.
I thought it was a fitting commemoration and a very nice touch.
Well done:up:
I thought it was a great tribute
Yes, what ref made for the SHIII is a sign of great respect and shows that we havent forgotten the ones who never came back.

Any thoughts/comments about ref's excellent addition.
I thought it was a fitting commemoration and a very nice touch.
Actually I do have something to say about that...
MONTHS ago I made a comment in passing after beginning to fully understand Ref's versatility... when the subject of new 3D models in-game came up... and I expected nothing to come of it.
A few weeks later Ref PM'd me with a link to the Möltenort Memorial 3D model itself. I was FLOORED!!! From what I can tell, Ref did this just to surprise me. He created this wonderful thing out of thin air.
For me personally, I hope it defines the mark we leave behind when all of this is over and gone... and I hope it is the image that defines the Grey Wolves dev team when we go our separate ways... whatever the circumstances may be...
... More importantly, it is representative of something much greater... It is a symbol of peace... and a symbol of a history that in one way or another binds us all... and a symbol of this international community... warts and all.
When GWX is released... you'll be able to find it a bit to the north at Kiel Bay... exactly where it is in real life.

Finally!!!!!! now I understand why you emphasised the point that no beta tester should make any reference whatsoever re:the Möltenort Memorial :yep:
Let this be an everlasting tribute to not only all those who perished in the German submarine service but also in some way a similar tribute to all of you fine people who have worked so hard to give this community a mod that will surely be remembered and played by so many for a long time to come :yep:

I was thinking of suggesting making a teaser movie.
Downloading now. I hardly think this can be better than my "Look to Norway!" movie, though:x.
Edit: OK, so perhaps it was:o. That monument is not as awesome as the fact that it's there. It's so great to see that you're spending time on scenery objects. Warms an old heart.

Ah. --nods-- Now I understand. I'd misunderstood what you'd meant before.
Yeah, I'm none to keen on the fact that the major compression/decompression programs (WinZip, WinRAR, etc.) are 'evaluation' programs that are supposed to be bought after their evaluation period has passed.
Not criticising anyone, but considering both WinZip and WinRAR enable you to create self-extracting files, why aren't they being created that way?

It's freeware.

For a choice of another zip program, you can use winrar as well. I use it personally.

Same here... in a previous life I was "Klaus Lehmann" of Jagdstaffel 5 (The Green Tailed Devils) at Boistrancourt, France. There's nothing like flying the old biplanes!
Once upon a time I was rather good at it too.

The video missed one thing: "This video is comprised exclusively from in-game footage" or related brag note. I'd have put a site URL at the end, too.
Apart from that, once again, it was incredible. Good job, guys.
Maybe, but I guess most of the guys that are interested in this mod allready know what SH3 is, and those who dont will get a pleasant surprise! :D
(And it IS all ingame, the only video effect used is zoom)
