I'm attempting a workaround to time compression by tweaking the cfg files.
My idea is to make the submerged speed some rediculous amount, like 100 kts, so if I want to cross the atlantic or make any other lengthly journey I don't even have to use time compression that much.
However when I changed the speed setting in my IXC nothing happened- it still goes 7.something knots while submerged. What did I do wrong?

Did you delete the bak file that the mini tweaker made ?
It will be in the IXC folder

I don't have a bak file in there. Still don't know why it doesn't work.

Well if you made it properly the tweaker will make a back up file of the one you altered
And changes wont take effect till that back up removed

Example.....
If you were editing the Scene.dat file. Then Mini-Tweaker will rename the original to Copy of Scene.dat. This will be located in the correct file path within your SH3 installation. This will apply for any file edited by Mini-Tweaker.
Note, you can use SH3 Inspector to accomplish this aswell. DL from the same place that you got MT from.

I'm not using any mods. I'm just going into the .cfg files and changing things. The problem is that it isn't working for some strange reason.

 Our bad, just assumed you were using MT. Timetraveller has specifically built a program to do what you want to do.
Have a look here....
