New Zealand strikes back and gives England six of the best, never the less we are in the final to face Australia again. Stand by for a thumping defeat as Australia romp home to victory.

I see we got a good thumping again. :nope: As for the press calling for D.F's head that's just crazy as the world cup is six weeks away and a change of coach will not sort this problem out.

Vaughan out - Ashes whitewash
Vaughan in - mini recovery
Vaughan out - slide back into ritual humiliation

or if you prefer

Plenty of time for vaughan. Flintoff, i had the pleasure of becoming acquainted with at the MCG. hmm. :shifty:

STEED

There is two strange problems with England the first being who ever leads the side starts to bat badly and from there on go down hill, so we need someone who can and will do the job.

The second problem when things go bad the rot sets in and we never pick up resulting in a bad showing, I remember seeing a game which was great some years ago I forget the two teams, team (A) was bowled out for a average score and team (B) clocked up a big score but team (A) picked themselves up and went there and batted to victory. We must pick our selfs up out of the gutter and get out there and fightback.

lil theory for ya

game was rigged so that England won with the bonus point to make it interesting. Next match, england vs NZ, close game for much but then england storm home for another win and bonus point, into the finals. This then generates interest among english fans again (who are lots bigger in number than the kiwis) and which happens to be just in time for the world cup...

oh no the ICB is after me for exposing another of their conspiracies, they can join forces with the US govt for something else too lol

Well done England. Good to see some smiles in your dressing room after a very gloomy tour for you guys.

You even have a chance to make the finals. Hope the injury list doesn't grow to fast for the Aussies. We don;t want to lose this series after being so dominant. That would bee just too

Seconded bookworm. Although I suspect that as usual it will be 2-1 with Australian winning the 1st game, throwing the 2nd to keep the gate takings up for the final defeat!

Check the records of the final series. Very few have been 3-0 whitewashes IIRC. I'm not saying there's a conspiracy or anything I just think that they want to make sure lots of people turn up for the 3rd game.:hmm:

For any opposition team thinking that they can rest easy knowing that our Gilly (Adam Gilchrist) will retire within the next year or two then think again. (http://www.smh.com.au/news/cricket/ronchi-breaks-record/2007/02/07/1170524160302.html) :smug:

This guy has loads of talent and is only 25 years old. I consider him to be our most logical long term replacement for the wicket keeping/batting role that Gilchrist has held. Will he be as good as Gilchrist? I very much doubt it. But this guy has loads of potential and has performed in the toughest domestic competition in the world. The only question remains is if he can transfer that talent into the international arena when he is given that opportunity which I am sure that he will.

Here are his bio and stats. (http://content-uk.cricinfo.com/australia/content/current/player/7502.html)

Note to Kiwis. He has said that he has no intnention of playing for NZ despite being born there.

If you win the next one also then there is no third match to play and you win the trophy. I sincerely hope that our boys have other ideas. We can only hope that the Aussies don't play as poorly as they did in the first final. All credit to England though. They paced themselves well with the bat and bowled and fielded better than they have the rest of the series.

Konovalov
02-11-07, 03:19 AM
Well a much better fielding effort this time by Australia with some direct hit runouts and they kept it tight in the last 10 overs. Now they have to go out there and do the job with the bat to take the series to a third final. :yep:

So is anyone fooled enough by the Aussies poor form of late to back anyone else to win the world cup?
Im still a beliver that it would take a stark raving madman to bet against the Aussies lifting the trophy.
Though did see today on the sports new that if they dont beat New Zealand in there next 2 games that they will be replaced at the top of the ODI rankings by South Africa. But was not surpised to here that they had been number 1 since the rankings came into being.

Steed,

Hardly surprising in all honesty. Our captain Ponting wasn't playing because of a sore back. Adam Gilchrist wasn't playing for family reasons (wife has baby on the way). Andrew Symonds is out with a long term injury. Michael Clarke also was out of the match with back trouble. Did I miss anyone? While these are excuses the fact is Australia are without 4 top world class players. Ponting, Symonds, and Gilchrist would be in a one day world 11 team without a shadow of a doubt and Brett Lee might be aswell. :yep: Ok, I'm done with the excuses.
