Hey guys,

I loaded up TGW and every time I set out on a patrol the boat gets damaged or suddenly stops in mid water. When I give it an order for speed, he comes back with "Can't comply." What's going on here? I can't even do 1 patrol!!

Also, what is with the "!" on some of my crew? Haven't seen that before.

Really want to paly this mod, so please help out.

Mods currently running (in the order they were loaded)

TGW
Improved Smoke 1_1
SH-III_Flagmod

I do have the latest patch and did a pure vanilla install first.

Thanks in advance

Luke

i thought is was a random malfunction by sh3 commander , but the problem remains after uninstall it.

anyway if anyone knows the solution for this ...

the "!" means your crew (the ones with the ! only) is to tired and needs rest
if you let them rest and put in some "fresh" ppl you're good to go

Ok, one issue solved. Thanks. But, I am talking about just getting under way. Only mere hours out of port.

You have hit mines when leaving port :). In the map screen on the upper left corner their are 3 pulldown sheets one of them has ports showing where mines are laid.

As for the ! icon i wouldn't know, probably something to do with fatigue. I prefer to turn off fatique altogether using SH3 Commander 2.6.

Maybe it aint mines? Does it happen when leaving port or when your further out at sea. I've read you still can hit the odd mine out at sea

SH3 Commander offers malfunction or sabotage options.

Second option are mines.

Third one is that you are running the GW 24h Fatique Model and there are issues with some boats. Could you PLZ tell us if you installed the 24h mod and what boat did you use.

For the "!" signs. They mean fatigue. Didn't you ever notice them before in vanilla (or was your first play with GW?). Crew efficiency goes doen if they are too tired!

I'll have to look that up. But, I restarted it and got a VIIC boat this time. All the crew are healthy and there are no "!" on any of them. Only thing I did differently this time is that I went in and got a full compliment of crew BEFORE loading the patrol up.

Isn't the NYGM2.0 fatigue based on morale? Because if that's true and its being used here then a major mine hit could be the culprit. I'm not familiar woth NYGM that much but I'd suspect taht hitting a friendly mine a friendly harbour isn't a good thing for morale.

No, I don't have NYGM loaded up on this install. I had that mod loaded up when I found TGW. So, I did as told, started a fresh install and the problem started.

On my first trip I may have been too close to the shore and ran aground. But, the second one is where I found the problem with the "!" on some crew members. I am now on my 3rd try, though still in port. I'll let you know what happens in a few hours.

Ok, I have unloaded and reinstalled the TGW mod WITHOUT 24-hr crew fatige. And it's even worse now. I have never had any problems with this game or any of the mods I was using before.

With TGW the 24 hr fatigue sets the 3D views at 1024 time compression so that the fatigue is realistic . When it gets rough the fatigue really sets in and it only takes a couple of hours to become fully fatigued . Move your fatigued men to the sleeping quarters . Put fresh men in there place . My advice is dont use the auto move squares at the bottom right of the crew screen .You will get a CTD (crash to desktop) eventually . Reinstall TGW with 24 hr fatigue ticked . Go slow out of the port and watch for unseen land, mines, etc . Read page 23 of your manual(crew roles on uboat) if you have one .

You really should use SH3 Commander. At least you can turn off fatigue temporarily and test to see if it's really a fatigue problem, then change later if you really want some type of fatigue. It's a great mod.
