Thanks to Anvart, my Lightship is now ready for release and can be found on my FileShare site. He has also included a bonus - an animated crewman on the top level of the bridge.:hmm:

Also, special thanks to Rowi58 for fixing the CTD problem, and to UBOAT234 for making the original multi-skin .dat for the NATF, on which this kitbash is based.

BTW... I can't get into FileFront to get it, so I guess I'll have to wait.

Do we have to add it to our game ourselves?

Well, I've classified it as a type 104, so it will spawn as regular coastal traffic. But to have it work as a proper Lightship, I would suggest that you change the designation to something unused (type 100 for example) and then script it into the game in the appropriate positions for appropriate nations. I wouldn't be able to tell you what those positions are, but bigboywooly is researching the subject even as we speak.:hmm: He has also started a thread on the subject recently.

It would be excellent if you could create a properly postioned lightship mod that was JSGME compatible with GW1.1a and GWX.

Well it would be easy to make a JSGME compatable package for the ship and I may well do one if AG doesnt mind - the SCR is a little difficult though as it will need to be merged onto your existing one
There are so many different scr's around it impossible to cover them all

Info on placings and dates is scarce
I have 19 placed off the US as have some good info on them - probably a few more but my knowledge of the eastern seaboard sucks :rotfl:
Have placed around 7 Swedish ones known and 3 Irish as well as 2 British I know where operating through the war
Still hunting though

I may repackage all of my ships to be JSGME compatible, actually. Well, except for the Englishnames file - that should be edited manually. You can put one together for people who want it though, if you like.

Do you have any information on Spanish or Portugeuse Lightships? I imagine there might have been some Portugeuse ones near the Azores, but I am just guessing.

That is really looking good with the u.s. placement bbw:up: One request though if you have a mind to and it is not too late--frying pan shoals-(LV115)--a liitle south of beaufort. that one along w/ the diamond shoals (lv105) were the two most wrote about on any writing involving the graveyard of the atlantic. can't access it now but I can show a sceenie of it's realiative location on the sh3 map later tonight (got them marked w/ the barricade ships at the moment:lol: )

Yes please
105 is there according to the references I found but if you have it placed better will be ok
As I said the eastern seaboard is a blank to me lol

Don't know if I have them placed better--didn't use any grid cords--but populated the nc coast by eye from a book map and personal visits. The barricade ships represent possible positions for the lightships there.

Frying pan shoals near cape fear:

Diamond shoals near cape hatteras:
http://img176.imageshack.us/img176/3522/sh3missioneditor20061vb0.jpg

Lookout shoals near cape Lookout: (though don't know if there was ever an actual ship there)
http://img176.imageshack.us/img176/9978/sh3missioneditor2006111nb7.jpg

Each of those capes have actual lighthouses--the lightships (and later buoys) were placed well away from them and marked the ever shifting shoals--. As you know the sh3 map isn't exactly a perfect representation of the actual coastline but these could be possible location idea's. (although seeing my screenies now-I might have them too far out

Thanx U-S
It certainly helps having the locations on the SH3 map

The one at Cape Lookout was withdrawn in 1933
