Just installed the GW mod and 2 things I noticed are the bow splash sound is gone or very faint. The sound when the bow splashes against the waves. Is there a way to put back in the old sound?

Also, the ingame music is gone, which I knew would happen. Found it on the gramaphone, but how do you get it to keep playing without jumping to the next song. Normally, I'm not a big fan of in game music, but this game is an exception.

Do you use JSGME mod enabler ? If you still have the original sound folders, place them in JSGME to overwrite the GW ones.

Welp, not sure what JSGME is (kinda noob here) so I'm guessing I don't use it. Unfortunately, I don't have the original sound folders. I suppose I could install on my other computer and copy over. Is it all or nothing with the sound or can you pick and choose? Meaning GW's sound or stock sound. No intermixing?

Noticed this thread is listed as "moved". Where is it moved to?

Yes, you can pick and choose individual files, such as the bow splash. Most of the sound mods only change certain files, not all of them.

The thread was moved from 'SHIII' to SH3 Mods Workshop'.

Thanks. Would you happen to have the bow splash sound file(s)? Unfortunately, I don't have the original sound files. My email is tmdgm@buckeye-express.com

GW definitely changed something with the bow splash. Seems silly, but being on the conning tower without the splashing sound really takes away the imersion.

Ok, installed SH3 stock on another computer. Couldn't find a bow splash sound file there either. The only one that sounds similar is "Wave Bad Weather" wave file. But that one is present in both stock and GW.

Any ideas?

Its "Val de prova Submarin.wav" and/or "Vapor_Siaj.wav"

Thanks. Those were the sound files. However, I copied these 2 stock SH3 files to the SH3 GW sounds folder and still no bow splash sound.

I then copied all the stock SH3 sound files to the root SH3 GW 'Sounds' folder (did not copy any of the folders i.e. Menu, Gramaphone, speech etc). Still no bow splash sound.

So basically, I copied all the sound files from a stock install (different computer) to the GW install on my computer and no bow splash sound.

Kinda lost on this one. All other sounds seem fine. Strange.

Do you use another SH3.sdl file? maybe thats the reason. try to replace it with the Stock SH3 file, but make a copy of the GW file...

No, I've never installed any other mods. The sh3.sdl file is one of the files I copied from the stock install on the other computer to the GW install on my computer. I would've thought that would've done it as well. That's why I copied the whole directory. I'll try to go through the whole process again just to make sure.

I even deleted all the sound files in the GW sound root directory first, just to make sure everything was deleted. Then I copied the sound files from the stock install, including the sh3.sdl file.

Not sure what to make of it.

Very strange, really...

Complete reinstallation may help? But backup your stuff before...

That's what I'm thinking. Which files do I backup?

Also, do you hear the bow splash with GW?

If you have modified any files of GW yourself you should backup those... maybe skins etc... if not, you can do a clean un and re install...

yes of course i hear it...and everyone else do... dont worry, im sure after a clean(1) reinstall you will hear it too ;o)

if not, we will have to search on...

Thinking just a GW reinstall or a complete reinstall?

Thinking just a GW reinstall or a complete reinstall?

Well, you could try a GW reinstall, maybe this will already help, but i dont think so. the only thing (i know of) what controls the soundstuff in the game are the .wav´s and the sh3.sdl

the sh3.sdl should be the key, but you said you are already replaced it with the original sh3 file, right?

anyway, try GW first, after that a complete(!) uninstall, just to get sure... after that it must work...

do you encountered that problem with GW the first time?

Yup, copied the entire stock sounds root folder from a fresh stock install on another computer. Copied those files to my computer, deleted the GW sound files, then copied the stock sound files to my GW computer. The number of files in my GW computer matches the number in the stock computer (MB match as well) so I'm sure they copied.

Not sure what you mean by " do you encountered that problem with GW the first time?"

If you mean did it change as soon as I installed GW, then yes. Installed GW and bow splash was gone.
