Default Placing Lighthouses & Locations.cfg

I have been trying to place lighthouses around the UK (bored stiff) using the Trinity House website locations. I have , for example, set the location of Bishops Rock L/H as follows:-

[Location 240]
Long=-6.445
Lat=49.87166667
Heading=0
OnLand=false
ShowOnMap=true
FileName=Lighthouse
LocationName=Bishops Rock

The OnLand parameter when set to false sets the lighthouse floating above the sea (approx 3m) and the same parameter set to true means the lighthouse doesn't show at all. The config parameters at the beginning of the file :-

[Config]
MinBuildingTerrainHeight=3 ;[meters] minimum terrain height for placing buildings
MaxBuildingSlope=0.25 ;[0..1] maximum slope for a biulding to be placed

don't seem to have any affect at all.

My 1st question is - what can you set to show the lighthouse at sea level rather than approx 3m above?

My 2nd question is - How do you get these lighthouses to display on the in-game "navigational" chart. The parameter ShowOnMap only applies to the Mission Editor as far as I ascertain.

Waiting in anticipation.........

I do not remember details since I did it quite some time ago but I guess you can take a look at how it was done in my Lighthouse mod. I placed lighthouses on land with the help of the Mission editor by zooming-in to get exact coordinates. Lighthouses show up in the Mission editor when the campaign LND layer is loaded. I never looked into the issue of getting lighthouses on the navigational charts.

Sergei

The Bishop Rock LH was stuck on a rock west of the Scilly isles. Unfortunately that rock isn't modelled, so basically the lighthouse is at sea. I just dont understand why there is a gap between its base and the sea. Doesn't matter that much - just a little annoyance.

Are there limits to how many lighthouses you can put in an sh3 world? I have been wanting to add lighthouses to florida and gulf coast states...but, I'm not sure how many are too many....

Is something like this feasible? or would it affect performance?
