Default Silent Hunter III Steam

Hi everyone , i played SH3 game years ago, considering to play it again.
It is on steam, the question is can i mod a game that i buys on steam ?

If i remember correctly the best bod is grey wolves , is that still around ?

I have SH5 but i dont find it as imersive as i did with SH3. Is SH5 worth a play ?

Please be patient with me ... getting back its always harder ...

I am using the game over steam myself and every mod works. Yes GWX 3.0 is still the best mod in my opinion. But there are alot more great mods which you can add to GWX 3.0.

This is a very good guide on how to install GWX with Steam.

I would recommend only using GWX 3.0 for now to get back into the game. After you played some time you should also add the h.sie fixes.

Than if you want more mods you can check out this thread for some good mod lists:

A good start is also the big guide Bl!tzkr!eg made:

Hi Guys
SH5 with The Wolves Of Steel (TWOS) is now truly impressive and 99.99% stable.
Over 100 mods and patches tuned to work together in an easy installation with a video tutorial as well.
SH5 has impressive graphics.
Customized Game Play Settings and customable elements within the game using TDW's Options File Editor Viewer.
Has a real working Enigma machine for decoding your orders as an optional mod.
Real Navigation Optional.
Has KSDCommander to record your own career and see other gamers careers as well.
Highly recommended.
Peter

Hey Peter,

Thanks for the info, I bought SH5 the day it came it out. I think I have about 7 hours on it. At that time I just couldn't get into it, well compared to SH3 with GWX. But I'll install it and check it out again. Schultze

I have just installed it on Windows 10 with GWX3, provided you run it in compatibility mode it works perfectly.
