Well, if we use the "logic" put forth by people who think the moon landings were fake, the sinking of the Titanic was an elaborate hoax. Here's 25 reasons why:

1. The Titanic had three huge propellers, and could only go 25 miles per hour. A P-51 Mustang has one small propeller, but can fly 440 miles per hour.
2. The USS Constitution displaced 2,200 tons, but was only a century older than the Titanic, which displaced 46,000 tons. If the Titanic was real, we should be building ocean liners that displace 962,000 tons.
3. The Britannic struck a mine and sunk in an hour. If the Titanic had struck an iceberg, a substantially larger object, it would have sunk in seconds.
4. The ship only had propellers in the stern, none in the bow or sides. It would have been incapable of going in any direction except forward.
5. No clear color photographs of the ship were published until the 1980s, and most of them had the words "Ken Marschall" etched into one of the corners.
6. A ship traveling at 25 miles per hour through the North Atlantic would have been sunk instantly by the millions of blue whales and giant squids whizzing past the ship at lethal velocities.
7. All of the shots in James Cameron's Titanic are perfectly framed and exposed.
8. My great aunt's cousin's father told me that the Normandie was set on fire to prevent someone on the ship from exposing the truth about the Titanic hoax.
9. If 400,000 people can lie about the Moon landings, then 1,500 people can lie about dying in a shipwreck.
10. If we could send a giant ocean liner without enough lifeboats through an ice field at 22 knots 100 years ago, we still would be today.
11. The ship's hull was only 3/4s of an inch thick, so thin that tiny shards of ice could have poked through like a knife through butter.
12. The wreck is located so deep, that amateur scuba divers cannot visit it to confirm that it's actually there.
13. The ship's stern hit the seafloor so hard it practically exploded, but it didn't leave a giant crater.
14. The ship carried twice as much fuel as a Saturn V rocket, but it never traveled more than 1/5,000,000th of the way to the Moon.
15. As it burned coal, the ship would have become so light that it would floated into the air.
16. Nobody could decide if the ship actually broke in half until 1985, meaning it didn't actually sink.
17. No one had test-sunk an Olympic-class ocean liner with passengers before the Titanic sailed. How would they know it could actually sink?
18. It was so cold the night of the sinking that anyone standing on deck would have frozen in seconds.
19. In a 1997 Gallup poll, 73% of teenage polls thought the Titanic was a fake boat that Leonardo DiCaprio pretended to die on.
20. Survivors of the sinking remembered seeing stars that night, even though they weren't on the Moon.
21. The sound of the ship breaking in half would have been so loud that everyone in the lifeboats would have suffered permanent hearing loss.
22. Thomas Andrews and Captain Smith never showed their faces after the sinking, no doubt out of shame of having been involved in the hoax.
23. You can see the strings holding up the ship's funnels in every picture taken of it.
24. The bodies recovered after the sinking were just dummies that had been chilled in a radiation freezer.
25. When the ship sank, it was dark outside. But when the Carpathia arrived, the sun was out!

Two words come to mind about the person making this claim, weirdo, and I can't use the other one on this forum in case kids read it.

If you look at the photos of the iceberg, you notice that the hole in it is much smaller than the titanic.
And why does the government still gives no clearance of the security cam footage from the Titanic?
I have torpedoed ships in SH and they took much longer to sink. Did you also know that there were tons of people on the ship, before it left the port? 1000s of people walking on and off board - the perfect chance to bring tons of explosives onboard.
All this evidence leaves no other conclusion than that the Titanic was destroyed by a controlled demolition.
My guess: it was the Mossad - they bring squirrels to spy, train sharks to kill in enemy waters, so they are certainly capable to control an iceberg - not to mention Goldberg/iceberg....

edit: just noticed Subnuts' post, looks like he is also one of us Titatruthers - keep on with the good work, buddy!

"Icist" comments like that have no place on this board! "An iceberg"? It was one specific iceberg, and it in no way reflects on icebergs in general. Most icebergs are harmless. You leave them alone and they'll leave you alone. Why, some of my best friends are icebergs! This one obviously had some social issues, and needs to be locked up, or at least put under psychiatric care. Maybe Skybird can help. On the other hand he might not be the best choice. "Iceberg", "Skybird" - there might be a distant family relation and a corrupted name involved. Of course the iceberg may merely have been startled by the ship, and attacked out of fear. We may never know, since the iceberg died a few weeks later, supposedly of natural causes.

Ice cubes, on the other hand? The only good ice cube is one you can chew on. Why that rapper guy changed his name to associate with their kind I'll never know. Do you know what ice cubes do? Drop down unsuspecting people's backs, that's what they do!

Oh, you self-claimed fighters agains "icism" are all the same! Whitewashing facts and history to bring Communism to Murica! Look what you did to Alaska and parts of the Rockies! Not enough ice for you, eh? Yes, keep on bringing billions of illegal glaciers to our country!

It was a single iceberg? Laughable! Why do they always gang up in groups when you see them? This is part of their ice-culture.
Please stop also the nonsense about icebergs and their social issues! Cry me a river - to stop criminal icebergs we need more icepicks and heaters!

Nice try to connect Skybird with iceberg. Skybird is clearly a patriotic citizen, the words "sky" and "bird" are both American! Ever noticed where the word "berg" comes from? And haven't you also stated to have German ancestors? I also did notice that some of your hair color can be described as ice-grey.
Ha, gotcha! No wonder why you have iceberg friends - you're one of them!

Ouch, that was a low blow - even for an ice-cold person like you!
My uncle died because he fell into a crevasse - which he wanted to fill with TNT to blow up the glacier.
My dear auntie wanted revenge and was arrested last month, when she broke into an ice cram factory with a blowtorch. Do you know what those cops said to her when she was arrested? - "Freeze!"
Unbelievable! A sign how deep even the executive organs of our country are involved in this conspiracy!

I don't hate, but you must admit that icebergs have their own homeland, the land of Björk. What do they want here, chilling out our kids and watering down our drinks.

It's moving to see Subsim being so unanimous about something even for once.

Hmm, yes, so they still don't know that I did it. Bwahahahahahaaa!! Why am I laughing?

You're laughing because insane criminal masterminds always give themselves away with maniacal laughter. It's in your contracts.

You just need to read the fine print.

This is a real history

One day, in a huge airport, a orthodox jew swiftly jumped from his chair, went to a man reading a book and slaped his head saying "This one is for Pearl Harbor"

The man, puzzled, said. "-Hey you ignorant, I am Korean, the Japs attacked Pear!" But the jew answered "-Korean, Japs, all the same" and then he went again to his chair.

The Korean kept reading. But, minutes later, he went to the jew and violently slapped him in the head, while shouting "This one for the Titanic!!!"

The jew touched his head and argued "-You ignorant the Titanic was sunk by an Iceberg"

Korean: "-Iceberg, Goldberg, all the same"

Well, it is NOT a real history, but is funny...

An interesting article about dogs on the Titanic.

http://newsfeed.time.com/2012/04/11/...anic-disaster/

Quote:
From its crew members to its crockery, enthusiasts have raked over every aspect of the Titanic’s tragic tale. But what about the dogs on board?

There were 12 canines on the doomed ocean liner, three of which survived. Those include a baby Pomeranian, Lady, whose owner, Margaret Hays of New York City, wrapped her in a blanket and carried her into a lifeboat.
The other two dogs to survive were also small, pedigreed pooches who travelled in their owners’ cabins. (All the dogs on board belonged to first-class passengers.) Sun Yat-sen, a Pekingese belonging to Henry and Myra Harper (of the Harper & Row publishing dynasty) lived to yip another day, as did a Pomeranian belonging to Elizabeth Rothschild of New York.

The nine dogs confined in the onboard kennel — where they were walked and cared for by crewmembers — all died. Two belonged to American coal magnate William Carter, who reassured his worried children that their pets were safe as they clambered into the lifeboats. His daughter Lucy was later compensated $100 by Lloyds of London for her King Charles spaniel, while his son Billy received $200 for his Airedale.

The other dogs that perished included two Airedales owned by John Jacob Astor IV and his wife, a fox terrier named Dog, and a Great Dane who was the object of a failed rescue attempt by his owner, Ann Elizabeth Isham. She climbed out of a lifeboat after being informed that her dog was too big to join her and returned to the ship’s kennel. A few days after the sinking, her body was found by a recovery ship, clutching her beloved canine.

The Titanic’s four-footed passengers are included in a new exhibition about Philadelphia families aboard the Titanic at the Widener University Art Gallery in Chester, Pennsylvania.
