[REL] Smaller Vintage Navigation Tools

PARKER PENS

Proudly Presents

SMALLER VINTAGE NAVIGATION TOOLS v1.3 READY!

Made by

Captain Cox
and
zAmboni
(for figuring out the "Zone" and "Crop" lines)

This started out as a request for "Smaller Navtools" and
ended up in an exercise to understand the "menu_1024_768"
I think we got a bit further unveiling the mysteries after much thinking
and testing. And special thanks again to zAmboni for figuring the "Zone"
and "Crop" lines.

This release is JSGME ready:
http://www.users.on.net/~jscones/software/products.html
************************************************** ***********
BUT A WORD OF WARING FOR ALL YOU GUYS USING ANY!!! MODS
THAT MODIFIES THE "menu_1024_768" YOU HAVE TO APLY THIS
MANUALLY OR TURN OFF THOSE MODS USING THE "menu_1024_768"

************************************************** ************
If you need to apply this manually

PLEASE LOOK AT THE README

INCLUDED IN THE FILE AS THERE IS TO MUCH CODE

EXTRA INFO for MANUAL INSTALATION:

C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 4 Wolves of the Pacific\Data\Menu\Gui\Layout

STOCK TOOLS

SMALL TOOLS

Now as I said in the beginning this was more an exercise in understanding
the "menu_1024_768" so the placement and size might not be to every body's
liking. If you feel that you would like to resize or move stuff around be
my guest as to how...read this thread!

I just started a new career and played for 40 min or so. I think some of the tools are to small (eraser especially) and a bit weirdly placed. But as I said it was a sort a exercise. I might tweak that in the morn.

Looks good to start with, too bad I hate FileFront an can't DL from it. The eraser does look a little small, but from the picture it's looks better then the stock size....THANK..................................... .....

I just wanted to make a post saying that I have the majority of the stuff with the Zone= line figured out. It may not be until the weekend when I have enough time to sit down and write a detailed post about what I have found.

Although I seem to have figured out how to interpret the lines, I am still at a loss about the logic behind why the developers have done things the way they did.

How would one know if a mod they were using uses the menu_1024_768 and would possibly conflict with this one?

If you open any other mod (folder) and look in the

MOD/Data/Menu/menu_1024_768

If it has a "menu_1024_768" then it will conflict
Most if not all the "Clock" mods for example uses the "menu_1024_768"

Then you have to paste the code I posted in the "Readme" manually in the "menu_1024_768" of the mod you want to merge with. You also have to put the

"NavigationTools.dds"

in the

C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 4 Wolves of the Pacific\Data\Menu\Gui\Layout

If you want to use my graphics.

Also if you use JSGME to install all your mods it will warn you if it's going to overwrite a file.

That's why I created my own folder within the JSGME Mods folder called "Meridians Mods". Whenever JSGME tells me it's going to overwrite a file I try to merge the mods together and then put them in my own folder, I then always install my merged mods last. That way I know when I am overwriting a file it's intentional. Saved me a lot of grief too.
