German Auxiliary cruisers during WW2 usally raised the Kriegsmarine jack before firing at the enemy or after a warning shot across the bows (Or so i read) also they usally tried to capture or sink a ship with the least posible casulties though it's understandable that it would be difficult to incorporate this incorporate into the game.

The ships would hide under other countries flags but would raise the German flag before firing hence not against the Geneva convention i believe.
