Default This is very interesting, perhaps a new weapon?

Here's an intersting article..

http://www.uboataces.com/articles-rocket-uboat.shtml

Just thought I'd poste this for no apparent reason.

Happy Hunting! (And Easter!)

Cool article. Yes, this subject (rocket-firing subs) has been looked at as the basis for a mod sometimes. :hmm: However, they were rarely used and the anti-ship version never got much beyond the experimental stage.

Yes, but perhaps it'd be a good quick mission or war patrol, etc.

Take a secret german weapon off of the american coast and try to fire off the rocket before being caught by the approaching ASW forces, in the article I believe it mentions one such attempted operation using type IX boats.

Edit* Actually I think it was the XXI boats.. (sorry! getting ready for a new patrol and am wanting to get off the forums quick.)

The USS Barb conducted several rocket attacks on its last war patrol. they hit a few factories and other land targets. "battle stations rockets!"

Yeah...it's too bad the real missles didn't start showing up until after the war.
Imagine having one of these planted on your aft deck marked for an aircraft factory in Kobe or Osaka.
