Default [rel] Destroyer Mission

Well, I finally broke down and got the SH4 add-on yesterday. I wasn't going to because I like the Fleet Boats but it looks like the mods even without Uboats are going to need 1.5.

And the first thing I had to do on a promise is make a Playable Destroyer mission. So if any of you have that mod here is a mission for it. It is saved as a german mission because the DD is built on a German sub but it has Japanese ships--the DD is Japanese. It has a 'refit' ship in it, because some were complaining about running out of ammo.

thanks mate. this is really appreciated.

I only really bought UBM because I realised I could play surface vessels! I reckon this is just the beginning - can't wait for the pocket BB to come out!

Any chance of a surface combat mission?

Do you mean like a Task Force vs. Task Force? If you do, the problem there is they start shooting at like 7-8 nm from each other, as you noticed with this mission. You could hardly see what you were shooting at. And I don't know, we would have to ask the guy that did the mod, but it seems to be easy to put the Fubuki out of commision. So it may not be modeled to take some hits like a 'real' destroyer. I noticed in at least the one of his missions I looked at he had the rating of the other side as "poor". If both rating had been set the same, you wouldn't last very long because you can't control who your other ships shoot at. In fact with mine I can't control who I shoot at, I haven't installed the new version yet, maybe that will work. You are suppose to be able to lock on a target and have the fubuki target that one. It doesn't work for me.

If you want a merchant attack, that would be a bit easier to get them close. I can come up with something, just won't be very realistic. For example, I can't put in Battleships on the other side, you might as well go to war in a sampan. Maybe I can find a good side for an ambush. I thought of a harbor attack but a lot of computers have slowdowns in harbors.

Any input on what you liked or didn't like on the mission? I tried to keep you busy the whole trip. The Fubuki stinks with the planes, it doen't want to shoot. Be honest, if you hated it just say so, that is how I learn what to do and what not to do. I tried to make it semi realistic, because that is a destroyers job usually to escort something. It's too bad we can't use subs but they just sit there and do nothing.
