This could be the best Christmas ever

Having announced the fact earlier in the week that the wife and I are expecting our first grandchild from our daughter and her husband next May, my son waltzed into the house this morning to inform us he has just passed his merchant navy Masters exam.

We were aware he was on study leave but as for previous exams he kept the examination date a secret so as not to create his parents any anxiety.

This could well be the best Christmas day ever, especially as we have all the family at ours for dinner and I'll probably refer to him as Captain James but only for the one day
