It is very good comparison. I think its too loud and thats why the first thing im doing after installing/reinstalling sh3/gwx is changing creaks.wavs to stock ones or im mixing it with creaks sounds from other mods (WAC and/or Venatores). You can do this - or wait for gwx 104...

Is there any chance I could be so bold as to ask is there something you could do to make this better? The yellow and red sound effects are fine, I mean you are deep, creaking hull and thuds is expected but, I think the boat is too noisy when in the green.

Just my thoughts, and I've had em a while.
Simple....just instruct the crew not to use the toilet whilst the boat is submerged

I don't know if cross-threading is allowed but could the GWX 1.04 team look at:

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=116525

This might be a GWX problem? Let's dicuss it further there.

I would *really* appreciate if the hydrophone stuff from Raduz and greyrider and Nautilus would be compatible with 1.04

Raduz made a 1.03 speed chart but it's not working with 1.03 unless the original sound files are copied over the 1.03 files.
Also it would be pretty cool to have all their hydro charts in the game!

Any way I appreciate every effort put in GWX 1.04!

Default GWX download problem

I had to reload my game from scratch today.
I patched SH3 to 1.4b, then tried to download GWX... I keep getting the following message:

"C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilentunterIII" is not a valid v1.4b installation! Please select an installation of Silent Hunter III which has been patched to v1.4b and is unmodified".

GWXInstErr
Verification of "C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII" by The Grey Wolves Expansion failed.
Test 1 = PASSED
Test 2 = PASSED
Test 3 = PASSED
Test 4 = PASSED
Test 5 = FAILED - 9ca80281a6b2e84c30a773f2c23f6b1a

It is a valid installation of v1.4b, so how do I fix this?
A friend of mine is having the very same problem.

This might help you. Pay attention to the removal of residual files.............

Have you modded the installation at all? If it's a new installation, did you *fully* remove the residual files before re-installing SH3?

Please note that this error is from a report generated by the GWX installer (GWXInstErr.log). IT IS NOT INDICATIVE OF ANY FILE CORRUPTION! The five PASSED/FAILED values are simply the result of tests undertaken to determine the validity of the selected installation of SH3. Any FAILED results means that the SH3 installation is not valid.

Corrupt files are determined by using MD5Mate which will provide a visual indication via ticks and crosses as to the integrity of the d/l files. A totally different process.
Here is the suggested process for installing a default version of GWX...........

2) Open Windows Explorer and:
- *delete* the folder where you had installed SH3
- *delete* the \My Documents\SH3 folder
3) Reinstall SH3
4) If your SH3 did not come with patch v1.4b already included, install patch v1.4b. Ensure you install the patch that corresponds to your copy of SH3 (Download/DVD/EMEA/US)
5) OPTIONAL: Copy and paste this "clean" install as a backup to avoid the need to follow steps 1-3 if your game becomes corrupt in future
6) Visit the GWX homepage and download into the SAME folder GWX.exe and the five .bin files. While there grab the v1.03 patch
7) Run GWX.exe and follow the installation prompts
8. Run GWX103.exe and follow the installation prompts
9) SH3 COMMANDER USERS: Visit the GWX homepage and download the GWX 1.02+ Cfg files for SH3 Commander and unzip the contents DIRECTLY into your SH3 Commander\Cfg folder.
I hope this helps you to get up & running.

OK... got a wierd one here, and have probably been using the wrong search terms, so bear with me.

Can't tell for sure, and I don't remember seeing/hearing this elsewhere: I'm switching to the DG on a VIIb, purportedly carrying 220 (iirc) HE rounds... and not loading any, but rather being told that there's no more ammo.

So... do I have a bollocks-up install of GWX, or am I just making a matrosengefreiter's mistake somewwhere?

When in the deck gun view are you clicking on the HE shell at bottom right? (with crew in position of course)

Aye, sir. It's the only shell icon there; clicking on it only appeared to "highlight" it for the click duration, but beyond that, nil.

Weapons officer reports a full load of shells for both the DG and the flak, and the flak DOES have it's complement of shells loaded and available, but the DG reads 0 in the breech and 0 available.

No edits or changes made, I'm running stock GWX/SHIII with the most recent SH3 Commander, reload times at "normal" (ie: the reload times checkboxes are blank).

Unfortunately, due to the amount of work currently on the table, producing a version of the above for GWX is prohibitive. Sorry mate.
