Default Win 10 and SH Group with Mods

Upgraded from 8.1 to 10, went smoothly but quite time consuming! Nearly 5 hours of downloading and rebooting. SH3 and SH4 with the various options migrated perfectly. Made sure that all exe files were set to "Run as Admin" and set for "WinXP Sevice pack 3" compatability. So far, NO problems!

Success, I'm finally heading through the English Channel to my patrol grid of BF19. However I'm currently sat on the bottom, northwest of Calias with 45% hull integrity.

Fog bank and running on the surface has caused Bernard to miss the 2 destroyers appearing right in front of me..

2 hours, real time and they are finally leaving, however a french warship is now on the horizon... should go on, or return to port...

To fix my graphic problems, I re-installed Conus00 GWX widescreen mod and re-configured the config. Using several other widescreen mods as templates until I found a solution for my problems....

I'm now running GWX3.0 with 50 + mods [including SH3 Commander & added mods] and have fallen in love again.

I'm now upgrading main desktop from Windows 7 - and so far it's behaving nicely.

I will post my mod soup very soon - it's borrowed heavily from Sailor Steve as I used his list to get me started.

Happy sailing to all for now... Time for another rum and coke.

Hi all

In fact is the routine to install SH3 for Windows 7. 8, 8.1 and Windows 10 nearly the same.

We wrote all important steps here: SH3-INSTALLATION-2015.PDF

- Read page 11 - how to Install SH3
- Read page 6 - for troubleshooting
- Read page 9 - for the “golden SH3 rules”

Win 8.1 and Win 10: Set compatibility of SH3.EXE to “Windows 7” - that’s it.

For personalized technical SH3 support write us: support@lsh3.com

Best regards, Urmel

Urmel, did any of you use Hitman Pro 3.7 antivirus software? I know of no way to shut it down without uninstalling it. I don't want to have to sit and wait for hours doing the Living Silent Hunter III Edition 2015 (V15) install. And I don't really want to uninstall Hitman Pro either.

Thank you Urmel for the pdf, I had seen it before, but could not remember where.. I have now followed your simple adivce regarding the black box issue and i'm delighted that it's now working without any other wide screen or resolution mod..on both desktop and laptop.. I now have to re-apply all my mods in the main install directory.

Thanks again.

Regards

That is how I installed SH3 on Win 8.1 and I have now upgraded to Win 10 in mid-patrol with no problems.
