An unimportant but annoying bug in sh4

The year is 1941 and an American class Sargo submarine is approaching the confirmed enemy target found by the deck watch, the Captain orders his Helmsman to go to periscope depth and the submarine starts its battery motors and goes beneath the surface.......

But WTF!?!!? The deck watch is still standing there under the water???? I want them inside!! How do I fix this bug? Or do I have to live with it? Appreciate informative answers

(I have the 1.5 version)

Save and reload seems to be the cure for this.

Reportedly, this is a common effect of using Alt-Tab to switch out of the game. It happens to me sometimes if some other program or update pops up while playing. I tend to ignore it. It doesn't really seem to have much other effect beyond graphics.

WELCOME ABOARD!

Yes, it's minor.

Yes, it's annoying.

Glad it's sorted out.

What someone once told me, and I've used with no problems:
Go to the control room camera, and leave the game running at time compression 1, not paused. Alt-tab out, and the game will pause, and you won't see the issues (CO2 bug, crew on-deck underwater, etc.) I've been doing it for a long while, and I have never had any problems. I've left the game paused that way for days, and come back to continue an attack.

OK, I tested it and it works! Thanks for the tip!

While I was playing a few nights ago, something happened where the game started flickering and then froze but the flickering continued and I thought at first that some update thing was happening. Usually I minimize the game and close whatever program is trying to update. This time was worse and my display crashed to Grey screen. Nothing was gonna' bring this back. Fortunately my wife had the same laptop as I and her c drive was wasted so I popped my drives in the other laptop and it worked, I'm back up. I am now setting ALL my programs for manual update just to be safe. I don't know for sure if the other program cutting in was too much for the display to handle (it was running pretty hot) but I'm not taking any more chances, this game uses a lot of display power and something cutting in unexpectedly may be really bad for the box.
